Adoption

[edit]

Hi, I'm writing my first article about a website that I use a lot. I've already inserted all the references, but I have a problem with the 'infobox website'. I'd like to add the logo and a screenshot but I don't understand how to do it. I've searched on different help pages, but I still have problems.

Do I need to upload the logo and the screenshot on the common area? But I think it's not correct, because I have to say that they are free to use. A logo as got copyright on it, not everybody can use it, I suppose.

If you can help me with this issue I will thank you forever!

Sorry for my english, I'm italian :-)

ciao!

Hi, sure. I'll check around what you've been working on.--CaroleHenson (talk) 19:16, 4 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I've added comments at Draft talk:Findacrew.--CaroleHenson (talk) 20:06, 4 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot! I'm going to read it all. Sailor sailaway (talk) 11:30, 5 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Great job adding categories to Find a Crew! Is there something else you'd like to do with the article? Do you have any questions about what I posted on Talk:Find a Crew?--

CaroleHenson (talk) 19:14, 9 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Thanks again for your massive help! I just don't understand why the article is still an 'orphan' after you linked Find a Crew to Mooloolaba,_Queensland. Do I need to do something else? Can you give me some hints? I've also sent an email to the website owner asking him the permission for the logo. --Sailor sailaway (talk) 21:31, 9 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

My pleasure.
Do you know of other employment websites for boat crews? If so, there could be a link to Find a Crew on that / those sites - and a see also section for the other boat crew sites. Or are there other related topics?
Great for asking for and ok to use the logo, then it wouldn't be a non-free image.--CaroleHenson (talk) 00:55, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Carole! I've tried to add 3 section to the infobox but they don't appear in the page (foundation, founder, key_people). When you have time can you check it for me please? I'm doing the research on employment websites, but no one is on wikipedia. I continue my search. Thanks again. --Sailor sailaway (talk) 15:22, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sailor sailaway,
The {{Infobox website}} template does not have those fields. If you want to switch to {{Infobox company}}, you should be able to get that information in the infobox.
I'll remove the orphan tag. It may get added back, but we'll see. Thanks for checking around for options! As an FYI, the more pages that an article is linked to, the greater the readership.--CaroleHenson (talk) 15:51, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Carole! I've just inserted the link here Cruising_(maritime)#Expense. I will switch the infobox to Company. thanks --Sailor sailaway (talk) 16:02, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good.--CaroleHenson (talk) 16:18, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Carole!
Can I edit the same page in the italian wikipedia?

I think I need all the pages in italian, also my profile, is it true? Or there is a tool that transfer the article and my page to the italian wikipedia?
Thanks again for your help! --Sailor sailaway (talk) 18:37, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, No there's no tool to transfer the information, but you could use google translate to translate the content - and then tweak the text as needed for grammar and clarity. The wiki markup is different, too. You don't need a user page. Good luck with it!--CaroleHenson (talk) 21:25, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
