@Maile66: it might be sorted but I could see grounds for it to be challenged again. The underlying image of the book cover is actually in the public domain so there is a chance that this gets proposed as a replacement for the cover. You could potentially then argue that the cover is is also in the public domain as the added text is simple and below the threshold of originality. The green shape under the text on the other hand I'm not so sure about. Replacing a cover with a photo is not something I agree with but could be something another editor considers is a good idea. Speedy Deletion[edit]

Greetings,

I have noticed that my personal sandbox has been nominated for speedy deletion, and I wanted to reach out to you as to clear some things up. I have often messed around on my personal sandbox, I am fan of alternate history and I would often craft scenarios using infoboxs on my sandbox. I have done more than once, and I have never published them as serious articles simply because I just like to toy around with my personal sandbox. I do not understand as to why it would constitute an issue now.

This was my personal sandbox, since I've joined Wikipedia, I've messed around with it all the time. As such, it was not a real legitimate article and I had no intention of publishing it as an article. I created fictionalized alternative history and future versions of both royalty and politicians, I've created fictional war scenarios and fictionalized alternate versions of real countries. I have no intention of adding it to real articles or publishing them as real articles. This was something that I like to do for fun, and I have done this for years. Please review Criteria for Speedy Deletion thoroughly so you better understand the different criteria, when they apply and to which namespaces they apply. For example, all "A" criteria only apply to main space articles, not to pages in User space or Files. Elie Cristo-Loveanu[edit]

  • @Abzeronow: nice work, I had no idea that art used to be part of the Olympics. I found this article https://www.observatorcultural.ro/articol/un-artist-roman-la-new-york/ (in Romanian) which I believe the cover includes a self portrait of Elie Cristo-Loveanu from 1962. I couldn't 100% confirm it was Elie Cristo-Loveanu but it would be weird if it wasn't him on the cover of an article about him though. As you created this category, I figured I'd ask directly: is there any reason you can think of why this shouldn't be a subcategory of Category:Television series based on Mario? About the SVGs[edit]

How do I add where I got them from? I used the map from the Wikimedia databases, but the maps were colored by me (and some other users) using Inkscape. This is mostly my own work, since the coloring was done by me. How do I add their copyright? Altendo 11:02, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • @AltendoYT: You can choose the license from Wikipedia:File copyright tags/All. The original World map configurable.svg uses {{CC0}} as its license so you might consider using that as well. For the source, you can list it as your own work, as well as linking to the to the original World map configurable.svg (which you've already done).   • @AltendoYT: Yeah pretty much, just move the license template down to under the Licensing header and remove the Di-no license and it should be all good. I usually move the Valid SVG template down a bit as well but that is just a preference. Something like this below:

RE: File:Czech Extraliga logo.png[edit]

Hi Salavat, I`ve used the File: Czech Extraliga logo.png that you`ve uploaded to en.wikipedia for the german version of Wikipedia. But I`ve done it obvisually not correct.

How do you upload cover art images on wikipedia without getting them deleted?[edit]

I'm making a lot of pages, mainly on Lego, but I wanted to know how you uploaded cover art without it getting deleted or taken down. I'm using the upload wizard but all the pictures I upload get taken down in a day. I know you uploaded the cover art for Lego Battles: Ninjago so help me out here please.   • @MKsLifeInANutshell: I usually use the Plain form for local uploads option when uploading images, then just copy in the code (like below) and fill out the fields. As long as Use field is either Infobox or Header your upload should be fine, anywhere else in the article and this template isn't useful. For the Article and Name fields copy and paste in the article title, the Owner field can be the Publisher, and the source is the website you found the image. The Use field is nearly always Infobox but can be changed to Header if the article doesn't have an infobox at the time of upload. If you want more details on the template code you can see it here: Template:Non-free use rationale video game cover.

That link is for Commons, you want to be uploading in Wikipedia for video game covers (Commons is only for completely free media, not stuff under fairuse). So in Wikipedia click Upload file on the left side bar, select "Plain form for local uploads" on the right on the template box, and then follow the steps mentioned below. 1. Upload the image and insert this into the files summary section of the Upload screen:

2. Add the uploaded files name into the infobox under the image parameter. It should look like this (change the images name where applicable). You already have the image parameter in the Adidas miCoach infobox so you just need to add the file name into the article, for example "Lego Ninjago - Nindroids cover.png":

@MKsLifeInANutshell: yeah that's correct, the option "Plain form for local uploads" is probably the best option for following Step 1 above. In that option all you need to do is copy the bit above into the Summary section, you don't even need to selection the licensing as it is already included in the code I provided. Please note that the Iona University logo uploaded in July 2022 has a white border around the Celtic Cross. This is not proper useage of our logo. I've uploaded an updated version without the white border but please let me know if there are any issues.
