Haven't the time to check, so could you verify if this is true? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 01:32, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure. I haven't played this game yet. Im going to try buy it despite the bad reviews. My thing is, at least it not ET. Sarujo (talk) 03:50, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Did you look into this? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 18:30, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Not yet, things are a little tight right now. I'll let you know what comes up. Sarujo (talk) 18:36, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I was hoping for someone like Prima to put out a stratagy guide for this game as they have done for other Dragon Ball games. But it appears that this and Burst Limit have slipped under the radar. Sarujo (talk) 01:32, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Good news, everyone! (Imitating The Professor) I just picked up a copy of Infinite World. So I play it and see for myself what's inside. Sarujo (talk) 17:18, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Boy, I tell you what ..." (Hank Hill) you let me know what you find ;) Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 23:03, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well I've only made a dent in the game, but here's what I know so far. The game's starting roster clockwise is:

  • Son Goku (Adult)
  • Son Gohan (Kid)
  • Krillin
  • Piccolo
  • Tenshinhan
  • Yamcha
  • Raditz
  • Nappa
  • Random "?"

After you've unlocked a character, you have to buy them at the shop in the Warrior's Room for about 2,000 zenni a piece. You earn zenni by completing the missions in Dragon Mission mode. From the way it appears, that the characters only have certain costumes skins in two player modes. For example, Goku only has the orange gi with obi and the blue and grey gi as an alternate in two player. But in Dragon Mission, he wears the orange gi with incircled kanji and belt in both Saiyan and Frieza sagas. No big deal, I just love a conglomerate of alternate skins.

The Dragon Mission appears as an over head map. You move Goku by either walking or running to various points that are avalible. When you've played through Dragon Mission, you unlock another mode called Fighter's Road. If you don't read the instruction manual, it like a big secret. As that slot appears as "????????". This mode has the same appearance as Dragon Mission, another over head Dragon World map. Only here, you get various fighters to fight.

In the Warrior's Room the capsules are color coded like in previous games red for ultimate attacks, purple for super attacks, yellow for powerups, green for ability, and grey for specials like characters and fields. The Skill Tray is also color coded in this game. They are prearranged accordingly. As follows from top to bottom, one ultimate, two super, one powerup, and four ability. The last two for ability are locked, requiring you to buy a capsule called "Ability Tray 3 Open" and after that a "Ability Tray 4 Open". Unlike the last games, all capsules can only be bought at the shop. The method of leveling up in this game is by buying higher versions of each card. When you buy, lets say a level two Kamehameha, it replaces the level one Kamehameha without you having you swap cards in your Skill Tray. The highest level I've reached so far is level four. In Dragon Mission you have to keep refilling the Skill Tray before each battle unless the mission doesn't call for it. Also, the Dragon Mission gives you the ability to choose the difficulty setting. which is very easy, easy, normal, and hard, the default is normal.

The game's AI is more fierce, even in the very easy setting. As the AI will use more attacks move and has a more quicker responce time to dodge your special attacks. Which is alot more than I can say for certain parts of the controls. As it's hard to perform a two button move on cue.

Now, I'm not sure if it was because the game was playing on my PS3 or if that's how the game is presented, but the menus feature no vocal diologue. The opening theme song used is "Hikari no Sasu Mirai e!" instead of the English equivalent "We Gonna Take You There". I don't really know if the game has any compatiblity problems as the compatible statis support page at the PlayStation website hasn't listed this game or the PS2 version Guitar Hero World Tour. Not very supportive. And PS2 World Tour has serious problems on the PS3, but that's another story altogether.

On the other hand, I now understand why all these game critics are all under the impression that Hironobu Kageyama was the composer of the soundtrack, as the back of the case states "Music by Hironobu Kageyama". Which gives the casual Dragon Ball consumer the impression that he composed the music. And by the way, the track that plays in the first time ring game, titled "Tropica", sounds like something you'd hear in a Sonic the Hedgehog game. I'll tell you more when I play and unlock more. Sarujo (talk) 18:36, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've completed the Dragon Mission once. After the credits new missions are made available and new costumes appear in the skill shop :). A new capsule is also available that gives a new difficulty setting. More as I continue. Sarujo (talk) 02:34, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I have sucessfully completed the game with everything unlocked. The unlockable character roster is as follows:

  • Vegeta
  • Vegeta (GT)

  • Gt. Saiyaman 2
  • Pan
  • Raditz
  • Nappa
  • Captain
  • Recoome

Then the list of stages you can choose from at the game's start are:

I believe that there is more than enough here to make an impressive write up. Sarujo (talk) 13:14, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

After I added the new changes I had the article assessed, which it was upgraded to start. Which assesser stated "Needsa development section direly before C-class can be pushed for". I'm not sure if there are any articles out there where Donny Clay brags about his work in a game he didn't help creat. Sarujo (talk) 00:11, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

While looking up the a source for the Trunks fan art thing I ran across a Toonami PSA commercial bumper on anger that I remember seeing when it originaly aired. In it TOM uses use Vegeta as an example saying "Vegeta is a perfect example of a rageoholic. He can't let go, so he stays angry for a long time". He also adds a statement on Piccolo stating "Piccolo deals with his anger. It helps him focus, that's what makes him so dangerous". Sarujo (talk) 03:19, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

While looking up shirts for Trunks I ran across several shirts that feature the Quote "It's over 9000" or variations on that on CafePress's site. I would have added a direct link but for some reason the site is blacklisted from Wikipedia. In the past I stated that the quote was fancruft But now would this warrant the quote's admittance to the article? Personally I feel that the quote has quite a ways to go before it can be added. Any thoughts? Sarujo (talk) 16:37, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wait, is the quote from the blacklisted site? If that's the case, then I don't think it should be utilized. Oh, and now that I'm here, I was wondering if you could do me a favour. Could you check if the nihongo edits at Himura Kenshin are correct? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 17:15, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, it's just on t shirts with images dirrected at the Dragon Ball franchise. Like one with just Vegeta hair and eyebrows, another with a drawing of a guy dressed as Vegeta, some with "My power level is OVER 9000" or "MY POWER LEVEL IS OVER NINE THOUSAND!", and a few that features ">9000!". IGN article

[edit]

Has anybody here read IGN's two part article What's Wrong With Dragon Ball Z? Here is Part 1 and Part 2. Sarujo (talk) 12:49, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You deserve an award ...

[edit]

... so here it is:

The Editor's Barnstar
Your contributions to the Goku article have really made all the difference. Keep it up buddy! Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 07:06, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Sarujo (talk) 07:35, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Trunks part 2

[edit]

I ran across the Seattle Times version of that article seen here. So I'm just going to use that as the fighting 44s site appears like a blog. Sarujo (talk) 16:41, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It seem I have a situation over the matter of Trunks' hair color. I've had to go in and change back the claim that his hair is grey. This takes me back a few years when I knew a guy who was a Trunks fan and no mater how much you tried to set him straight, he was convinced that the color was grey. Which is making me wonder if this IP 168.16.141.122 could be the same guy. Yet the chance that it could be is astronomical. Still this may be a problem as there's no telling how may people across the globe believe his hair is grey. Any thoughts? Sarujo (talk) 14:11, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's likely that this the same individual. Here's what I'd do in this situation: source it. Once you do that, any attempts to change it would be deemed unconstructive and liable to revert. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 18:42, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Source it? Sarujo (talk) 22:22, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Unless the episode itself blatantly says "lavender" (which I sorta doubt it does) do you think you could come up with one? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 22:48, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Oh you lost me there. Not that I'm aware of at this point I was under the impression that the picture helped out. I've learn in the lavender article therte are apparently many different shades of lavender. With some matching the various shades that Trunks has been seen with. As you may or may not recall, when he first appeared in the anime. His hair was somewhat of a pail shade, and over time his hair, got darker. But if the profile picture or the the GT one doesn't help then what does? Sarujo (talk) 23:03, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes but Sarujo, don't you recall our chat about unverified claims? This sounds like one of those times. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 23:14, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
About the Ackman association? The only thing I've got to my name is the 31st issue of Beckett's Dragon Ball Z Collector. Which is dedicated to Trunks. The article Trunks: A Wanted Man by Greg Werner gives out his stats or "Defining Characteristics" as
  • Hair: Light purple
  • Last Seen Wearing: Capsule Corp. jacket and grey pants
  • Age: 1-23
  • Family: Grandchild of Dr. Briefs. Father is Prince Vegeta, mother is Bulma Briefs.
Should be considered armed (Typically with a sword) and extremely dangerous.
Well that's something to lookout for. For some reason I get the feeling that the Collector is classified as unreliable. Even though it is a subsidiary of Beckett Media LP. Sarujo (talk) 00:04, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
And also feature interviews with the Funimation cast and Bruce Faulconer. I might be getting off base. Sarujo (talk) 01:39, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The Collector says describs it as light purple and the lavender article states Lavender is a pale tint of violet. It applies particularly to the color of the flower of the same name, also The color lavender might be described as a medium violet or a light pinkish purple and The term lavender may also be used in general to apply to a wide range of pale, light, medium, or grayish violet colors, as well as some pale or light pinkish, magenta, or purple colors as well as some pale or light blueish-indigo colors. So at this point I don't know what to say. Sarujo (talk) 01:41, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, maybe the hair color isn't important enough after all. If it's a controversial matter then it might be best to leave it out of the article. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 01:55, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It just one IP right now, so I wouldn't be so quick to call it a controversy. Bu rather a mild inconvenience. Yet I still wonder if there are other fans out there like the IP and the guy I knew who are under this false pretense. Can the the Beckett DBZ Collector article help out or would it just be best not to use it? Sarujo (talk) 02:29, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps. Though like you suggested, there's that possibility of sock or meatpuppetry at work. As for the magazine, you're better off not using it, but that's just my opinion. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 02:48, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I had feeling in my gut not to use the Collector, and I trust my gut. To quote Colbert: "I've been a huge proponent of the gut. I trust it so much, it's where I put my food". Sarujo (talk) 03:12, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ok ready for this one, which episode did the gang meet Giru, which was the episode where Trunks was encased in Carbonite, erh, metal? Which episode did Trunks reveal himself to be alive, the plate was fake and he was uncovering the plan to awake Baby? Which episode did Baby try to possess Trunks. Which episode to the gang return home? Which episode is Trunks brainwashed? Which one episode does he and the rest of the Earth break free, and for that matter how do they break free? Which episode Is Trunks and Goten first seen fighting aross the globe? Which episode was Trunks and the others helping power up Goku? Sarujo (talk) 17:45, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Whoa, whoa, whoa! You're asking for GT stuff?! I don't know any more than you do man. My best bet is to look at List of Dragon Ball GT episodes and kinda figure it out from there. Either that or "force" yourself to look it up on YouTube or somethin'. It's been too long (almost five years actually) since I've seen the series so I'm afraid I can't help you there. Never really liked it except for the first two episodes and the entire Super 17 Saga. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 21:19, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I was worth a try. Sigh.
Or maybe find a torrent. I don't like geting Dragon Ball related torrent files, and any torrent I would get I throw away after. Just make it clear, I am in no way promoting Bit Torrent 0_0. I go there and I feel like I'm at the flea market. Sarujo (talk) 22:51, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Piccolo part 2

[edit]

...continued. Sarujo (talk) 16:41, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm thinking the abilities can be expanded a bit more, particularly his psionic usage. Also, I vaguely recall you saying that there was going to be a merge with Piccolo Daimao or something. Thoughts? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 18:20, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Did you catch this Sarujo? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 21:29, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I expressed interest in merging the Daimao stuff here making an article like the Trunks article. There is some coverage on Daimao, so that's a start. I mean there's so much expansion on Junior but only a small paragraph on Daimao in the main list of characters, a major villian of the franchise. But maybe we can wait until we see what editors come up with as the current state of that article is being criticized on structure and organization. Whereas, the Piccolo article structure passed. Sarujo (talk) 22:25, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Understandable. If you need any refs, don't be afraid to ask ;) Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 00:24, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed you removed the mention of movie Piccolo from the article. Might I suggest placing a hidden message asking would be editors to refrain from added new movie information until the DVD comes out Tuesday some time in the next six to nine months. I'm going by average film to DVD statistics. Then again, can the junior novel be used as a source? Sarujo (talk) 05:09, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Whatever works. I'm just sick of User:Jienum always putting in uncited bunk. You'd think after many warnings people change ... Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 22:25, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Himura Kenshin translations

[edit]

The word hitokiri "human cutting" or "human cutter" which giving who Kenshin is can be a slang for Assasin. Don't quote me on that 0_0. Amakakeru Ryū no Hirameki is pretty much right. Sarujo (talk) 18:08, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hitokiri, which takes you to Four Hitokiri of the Bakumatsu, says the literal translation is "manslayer.". So which is the right translation? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 18:20, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well "manslayer" and "human cutter" are pratically the same terminalogy. But "manslayer" was used in the anime alot and even in the Toonami bumpers by Peter Cullen, "He is known throughout the land as Hitokiri Battōsai, the manslayer". I'm at a crossroad on this one. Sarujo (talk) 18:47, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Then again maybe we can use both. What do you think? Sarujo (talk) 20:00, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
"Manslayer", definitely. Think you can implement that? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 20:40, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You lost me, could you be a liitle more specific? Sarujo (talk) 22:50, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, you don't know what implement means? I was pretty much asking if you could work that into the nihongo. That's all. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 00:55, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well I had a general idea. So you want me to add Manslayer to all instances of Hitokiri, am I right? Sarujo (talk) 01:57, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Nah, I was just thinking if the nihongo there should be replaced with this one: hitokiri (人斬り, lit. "manslayer"). Thoughts? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 02:09, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That could work. Sarujo (talk) 02:35, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
