Welcome!

[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 23:14, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Request reason:

It seems that you have blocked my account because you think I have multiple accounts. I do not, I have had this account for several years and would like to contribute more in the future. Sblack4 (talk) 01:33, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

This is a checkuser block based on private technical evidence(which even I cannot see). There also seems to be logged out editing involved. 331dot (talk) 10:29, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I cannot fight the evidence that I cannot see, and I cannot find a way to bring this evidence to light. I don't know how one would do any "logged out" editing but I have an idea how that might have gotten flagged; I made an edit from my laptop and then afterward downloaded the Wikipedia mobile app and logged in there too. That second log-in may have made the monitoring system think I did the editing while not logged it (which, as far as I can imagine, is impossible). I have not done any "vandalism" or "socking." My only contribution to Wikipedia so far has been to the AFD page for a somewhat controversial article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Twitter_Files_Investigation. If you care to read it, I provide a simple argument for why I think this article meets the GNG and cast my vote. That's the point of an AFD page, and so my contribution is not vandalism. Further, if I were "socking," you would see this behavior repeated. Instead, I made this account years ago and, other than donating money, have not used it to do anything but lurk. I am new here so if I misunderstand anything, please let me know in detail.

Decline reason:

Because this is a checkuser block, as noted above, normal admins (who respond to these requests) cannot act on your unblock requests. You'll have to contact ArbCom as described at User:Arbitration Committee to appeal your block. They have the tools necessary to investigate the block itself.
