[edit]Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to Clevedon School. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Your repeated addition of uncited rubbish to this article is unwelcome. If you don't stop you will most likely be blocked. Bob Re-born (talk) 19:11, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
Response to above accusations of rubbish. Sid Vicious John Simon Ritchie was at Clevedon School for a short time during his teenage years. This is in the school records which, if you cared to check, would prove that this is not rubbish. In Clevedon it is common knowledge and many over 50s who attended Clevedon Secondary Modern remember this. There was even a one minute silence held in an assembly after he died but hardly worth mentioning. A photo search will turn up a photo of him wearing the school tie on one of the biographies. However, for Sid's biographers, this is an insignificant period of his upbringing and time spent setting off fire alarms in Clevedon School is not worthy of a mention.
Some members of Disorder were also at Clevedon School but this has also strangely been removed from the Wiki page. Maybe they provide the wrong image and the school (or you) prefer the cleaner alumni of sportsmen to be mentioned.
What is notable here is that there is no reliable source given for Jack Butland, Kate Reed or Huw Bennett (or other "celebrities on their pages)so these are just as uncited as mentioning that several well-known punks also attended. Sid Vicious and to a lesser extent, the members of Disorder are, within music circles, renowned across the world.
By the way, the Disorder Wiki page was criticised in 2008 when it was first being constructed but the idea of deleting it was rejected. Reasons were: Strong Keep. Definitely notable - had several big independent chart hits (which is sourced, despite the above claim). Ian Glasper's Burning Britain: The History of UK Punk has 4 pages devoted to the band. If the article appears "promotional", that can be fixed. I'm not sure what "generally non-notable" means. Try Googling "Disorder punk Bristol" and you'll get plenty back. Try running the same search through Google Books and you'll get even more.
Anti-spam is a good thing but this is a fact and not necessary of exclusion. However, if Sid Vicious' attendance at Clevedon School is something the school is ashamed of and Wikipedia allows this to be deleted, then the website is being abused. Using your reasoning, we could all delete the above sportsmen as well as these are equally uncited. Whoever put those names there should also be blocked if that is the way this works.
