Information icon Hello, I'm Srich32977. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions because it appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. – S. Rich (talk) 07:19, 7 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

For future reference what makes something promotional? Is there exact parameters in the guidelines for what is considered promotional?

Thank You

Thank you for providing links to the welcome page but Its still very vague as to what promotional means. I have seen other Law Firms that are doing exactly what I did posting reference links to articles on their Law Firms Pages. Just looking for some further clarification so I can get a better idea of what I can and cant make a reference to. Thanks for your help.

Welcome!

Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! – S. Rich (talk) 07:28, 7 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The above is an automatic template message. In the situation at issue, you are adding a link to scrantonlaw.com which simply does not comport with Wikipedia polices and guidelines. – S. Rich (talk) 07:32, 7 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, I've asked that your Wikipedia account be blocked. If you – as an individual and not on behalf of Scrantonlaw.com – wishes to contribute to Wikipedia you may set up a new account. Thanks. – S. Rich (talk) 07:52, 7 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Great thank you for all of your help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Scrantonlaw (talkcontribs)
You are most welcome. Take a look at the guidance and policies inks above. Wikipedia has its rules, and we (as Wikipedians) do our best to comport with them. In this situation you might ask for a new username or you might set up a new account. But please do not expect Wikipedia to help the efforts of Scranton Law. – S. Per S. Rich's request, I have blocked this account, but you may create a new one in compliance with Wikipedia's username policy, should you so choose. Favonian (talk) 11:10, 7 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, Scrantonlaw, while you are blocked from Wikipedia through this username, we will welcome your edits through another username. But please leave out any references to Scrantonlaw.com. Thanks. – S. Rich (talk) 17:52, 7 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
