Review for "Francois-Alphonse Forel" page additions

[edit]

Hi Sdeco - good job editing the Wikipedia page on Francois-Alphonse Forel! You've made some great improvements to this page. What follows is a review by an external reviewer who based their comments on the version of your page that's available at this link.

Reviewer comments:

[edit]

I have separated my review into the sections as seen on the Wikipedia page.

François-Alphonse Forel
[edit]
  • I would suggest defining what limnology is in the first sentence of the original page
  • The following 3 points that are in the original document should probably go under a subheading to make the page more organized. Maybe “Legacy,” “Honours,” or something along those lines.
  1. The Institute F.-A. Forel of the University of Geneva is named after Forel.
  2. Foreltinden, a mountain at Spitsbergen, Svalbard, is named after him.[1][2]
  3. Forel (station) in Maule, Chile is named after him after he lived close to the station.
Childhood and Family
[edit]
  • I would suggest combing these two sentences to make it more cohesive.
Education
[edit]
Workplace and Professional Life
[edit]
  • Yes, he did study natural science and medicine when he was doing his post-secondary education.
Conclusion
[edit]
  • Each of your new sections are great additions to the original Wikipedia page. My suggestion is to add references to each section since the reader may not know where you got the information from. You could also add some of the pictures from the pdf document I provided above if you’d like. I have provided some links below.
  1. https://limnology.org/notable-limnologists/f-a_forel/
  2. https://www.britannica.com/biography/Francois-Alphonse-Forel
  • Overall, your additions will make the original Wikipedia page so much better and I can tell you’ve done your homework!

I hope the above is helpful as you wrap up your edits on your Wikipedia page! If you have any questions about this review, please let me know and I'll help you contact the reviewer. JoGDelta (talk) 05:48, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
