Username choice
[edit]I wanted to drop by and leave you a note that there has been some discussion of your username choice, specifically, whether it falls within our username guidelines. I for one am neutral on the subject, but I do want to point out that some Wikipedians may be offended by the reference to fur clothing, and that this may affect your experience on Wikipedia negatively. It is unfortunate, but nevertheless true, that some Wikipedians may react negatively to your username, and as a result, react negatively towards you.
You are certainly welcome to contribute under this name if you like, I simply want to make you aware that you may experience some unpleasant interactions if you do. (Placing a note on your userpage that explains why you chose it, or using a custom signature may help, as well.) If you would like to change, you may contact a bureaucrat via Wikipedia:Changing username and request a change to the name of your choice. I hope you'll find a positive experience on Wikipedia regardless of which decision you make. If I can be of any help, please feel free to leave me a note on my talk page. I also posted this message below yours on Codex's page, but I thought I'd talk with you here instead:
As for wikilinking "several dozen common words", that is plainly false. I wikilinked only about 25 words in total--hardly "several dozen"--and only two or three of those might be contstrued as common. As for the verifiability, I'd be happy to go over that with anyone on a point by point basis, if necessary. Any "gaffs" that I made in wikilinking an extra word or two are surely compensated for by the valuabe geographical and etymological information I've added, which this article was sorely lacking, not to mention that it skipped the Heresy of Peor, and the battles with Og and Sihon entirely. 71.76.219.92 04:18, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
Question regarding your username
[edit]Hi. I noticed your username yesterday, and wanted to ask what was your rationale in choosing it? The consensus at the administrator noticeboard is that it doesn't violate wikipedia's username policy, but I wanted to let you know that choosing a contraversial username may generate strong feelings in other editors. Thats not nessecarily a bad thing as long as its a conscious choice on your part. If you wanted to avoid people making snap decisions (as I almost did, for which I offer my apologies), you might consider registering another name...tho I want to stress that there is no requirement that you do so.
If you want to talk more about this, feel free to reply here or on my talk page. If you want me to mind my own business thats fine too. ;) --Syrthiss 14:50, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

Flags
[edit]Please see the ongoing discussion at Template talk:Infobox Television#Flag usage before removing any more flags. The template guidelines stipulate that flags should be used, hence they should continue to be used until this discussion reaches a conclusion one way or the other. TalkIslander 11:03, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
