Chingford
[edit]You made a minor edit on the Chingford branch Line page and commented about it being "an odd claim". Do you mean Chingford being a rural retreat?Davidvaughanwells (talk) 22:05, 16 September 2014 (UTC)
- No the "for businessman" aspect. I changed to businessmen, but why just businessmen? Secretlady (talk) 22:12, 16 September 2014 (UTC)
- If memory serves me correctly (at work now) that's how it was described in the source (London's local railways - A A Jackson) I was using. I have no doubt that this is a generalization and that Chingford would have had a number of other trades primarily support the local economy. In terms of the dominant group in numerical and economic terms I think that "businessmen" is probably the most likely. I am however open to correction!Davidvaughanwells (talk) 11:54, 17 September 2014 (UTC)
