Your signature on August Semmendinger

Hello. I'm responding here to your email of the 22nd November as it's more customary in Wikipedia to use your talk page for such discussions. You asked why I made this change to the article on your great-great-grandfather August Semmendinger. In response :
It is not necessary to sign contributions made to an article; the edit history shows who wrote what. Most articles have dozens (if not hundreds) of contributors - imagine the mess if they all signed their own bits of work. If you'd like to invite other people to discuss the contents of the article, it's best to do so on its talk page Talk:August_Semmendinger - perhaps a note there stating that you are August's great-great grandson and are happy to answer questions about him, his inventions and his life might be appropriate. - TB (talk) 21:53, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
