Speedy deletion nomination of Mark Hines Perfect Manhattan
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Mark Hines Perfect Manhattan, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. [edit]Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Manhattan (cocktail). While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. my modification to Manhattan (cocktail)
[edit]Hi I entered the following to the list of Manhattans at the bottom of the page entitled Manhattan (cocktail)
"• A Hines Manhattan, similar to the Perfect Manhattan and of growing popularity in Boston, is 2 ounces of bourbon whiskey and 1 full ounce of sweet Rosso vermouth, vigorously shaken for 10-20 seconds and garnished with a Maraschino cherry that has been marinated in bourbon for at least a week."
This is not a product of mine nor is it meant to supersede any of the other excellent Manhattan recipes. I have no personal or financial relationship with any establishment where ANY form of Manhattan is available.
What is it about this post that called for its deletion? Could you suggest a modification that would make it more acceptable? Thank you... Tom Shea SenseiTomShea (talk) 22:29, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
- You apparently haven't read the welcome notice posted at the top of this page. I suggest you do so, as it will answer your questions. More specifically, take a look at Wikipedia:Notability and Wikipedia:Verifiability. Kendall-K1 (talk) 23:24, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
Hi I did examine these. In error, i first created a separate page. I agree with deletion of that page as most of the info is already contained within the existing Manhattan (cocktail) page. However, the Hines Manhattan is just another Manhattan in my local area, and i only wanted to add it to the list of all of the other variations you have posted. I didn't supply additional information about Hines (the individual who fashioned it) which I COULD do, but i worried that such would look personal or advertising, etc. He is deceased, should that matter. Can you suggest any revisions that would make it acceptable? Please note that NONE of the other Manhattan recipes match the Hines Manhattan. Thank you SenseiTomShea (talk) 23:40, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
