Hello, Shad17th, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Shad Thompson, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Shad Thompson requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. J991 16:01, 16 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not social media like Facebook. You can't just post adverts - see WP:SPAM. It is also not free web space or a directory. Being an author is not enough by itself. You have to pass WP:NAUTHOR (notability for writers) or WP:BIO (if you are notable otherwise), and back it up with reliable independent sources. We actually prefer that people do not write about themselves - please see WP:COI. Peridon (talk) 22:25, 16 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've just looked into your output, and feel it only fair to advise you that self-published (CreateSpace, AuthorHouse, PublishAmerica, lulu and so on) authors very rarely get articles here. This isn't through bias - it's because they rarely get enough coverage in reliable independent sources to pass. This is down to the regular publishers having publicity and marketing departments that push the books in a way that independent authors can't do. Your covers look quite good, and I love the stick figures, so if the content is as good my advice is to try your best to get with a regular publisher. The royalties per copy are lower, but by heck, the sales are way better. And, apart from signing things, you don't have to do the publicity and marketing yourself. Good luck - as in the music business, luck is needed along with talent. But, I'm afraid we can only record you here when you are a success, We can't give any more help than I'm doing here. Advice and good wishes, that's all. Peridon (talk) 23:15, 16 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
