January 2021

Would you please stop adding Persian names to the Uzbekistani localities calling them "local names" please? Persian is not spoken in Uzbekistan except for Bukharan Jews (and they do not use the Persian alphabet), and Tajik names (written in Cyrillic) are already in the articles they should be. Thanks for confirming my hunch. I hesitated to revert all of them because I'm not knowledgeable about the extent of the use of Persian language or its writing system in central Asia, but I took a stand at Zanzibar, Bayla, and Kairouan, situated in different regions of Africa.
