Regarding your comment

[edit]

Regarding your comment on the pedophobia article, I agree with you. Here's what I wrote there:

That is a compelling statement, and I thoroughly understand - and agree with - what you've written. However, it is not within the jurisdiction of Wikipedia to change the vernacular. As the citations in the article detail, the term pedophobia is what is in common usage, supported through an established cannon. I urge you to find sources that support your assertion, and then make adjustments accordingly. However, in the interest of maintaining encyclopedic scrutiny, I will contest any unsupported statements or radical departures from the current content. - Freechild 16:54, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

I would be willing to assist you in finding background research - I think I even have information in one of the articles I cited in the article. However, I won't do it alone; I have recieved too much flak for that in the past. Are you interested in collaborating on finding the research and reconsidering the article together? Respond here, or on my Talk page. - Freechild 16:58, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am interested in correcting the article, but information to substantiate such a change is scarce online; most likely as a result of the internet's creation after the terminology changed. I have my hands tied this week, but next week, I could try to find some books on the subject that predate the 1970s at my university's library, so that I would have references to support such a change, or at the very least a section on the topic. I did a quick search with Google Books for Pediaphobia. Apparently, there is at least one book published in the 21st century that states that pediaphobia is a fear of children; unfortunately, the page is restricted. I will check my university's library for it when I have time. Shining Arcanine 01:15, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You probably did a [Google search] then and found these couple of pages. I searched Amazon and found nothing. I'll dig through my files in the next few days. - Freechild 02:45, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Freechild, I am inundated with work I need to do in my classes at the university. Unfortunately, I will not be able to do much research on this topic. Shining Arcanine 04:54, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just to follow-up on this, I thought I'd let you know that I moved the article to Fear of children, and included both of the terms in the introduction. Thanks again for the input there. - Freechild 07:50, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Logarithm

[edit]

Hi. I reverted your edit at logarithm, the base can be smaller than 1. Also, please use an edit summary when you contribute. Thanks. Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 04:38, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that. I never realized that it was possible to calculate logs with decimals until you corrected me. Perhaps it should be specified on the logarithm page to avoid further corrections by ignorant undergraduate students like myself.

By the way, thanks for the welcome. I had been looking for the exact pages that you gave me for quite some time and I had no success in finding them until today. Thankyou so much. Shining Arcanine 04:52, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You mentioned on my talk that "that an article on lunes is absent from Wikipedia's collection". I think you are referring to Lune, right? That article mentions a bit about the math lune, but probably more is needed.
You can reply here if you have comments. I will keep this page on my watchlist. Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 15:48, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
