Please do not do edit warring against the sources
[edit]Please do not do edit warring against the sources in the Battle of Mosul (2016–17) article. The source given there in the "Units" section clearly refers to the Nineveh Plain Forces, not to the Nineveh Plain Protection Units. Wikipedia is about facts and sources, not about personal political preference. -- 2A1ZA (talk) 17:24, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
- Sorry, I did not mean that NPF did not participate, what I meant was that NPU are the ones that should be listed under the Iraqi Army, while NPF should be listed under Peshmerga. Shmayo (talk) 17:27, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
- But note that SINA is a biased source. Shmayo (talk) 17:32, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
- I am fully aware that SINA is a biased source, just as absolutely everything from Assyrian politics is. If the God of Middle East studies would offer to fulfill one wish of mine, I would ask him/her to create an unbiased professional media source on the Assyrian community in Iraq. -- 2A1ZA (talk) 18:01, 5 January 2017 (UTC)

Lol, hope he does so one day. Regarding NPF and Peshmerga, the first article you linked earlier claimed the NPF is a part of Peshmerga, just to answer your last comment. Shmayo (talk) 18:20, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, that one of all the complex biased sources appears to suggest so that PMF were to some degree integrated into Peshmerga forces. If you feel like putting the NPF into the KRG-affiliated militias, you would at least have to add that source as an additional reference into the article, because otherwise the article and the references given do not fit. However, I am not really convinced that such presentation gives a sincere picture, as the one recent source gives no hint that NPF in the Mosul battle were "commanded by Barzani", rather suggests equal loyalty to Iraq and KRG. -- 2A1ZA (talk) 18:34, 5 January 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Kingdom of osroene
[edit]The inhabitants of osroene was mainly arameans, greeks and parthians. The king abgar might have been arab. I am not a patriot, l am neutral and open minded. According to simo parpola they had an assyrian identity, now should we trust him? l would say yes because we know that the arameans worshipped mesopotamian gods. And our church fathers accepted both aramean and assyrian for our identity. Now how trustworthy were our church fathers, well, not very much but they could have documents describing the syriac people as arameans or assyrians, but what we know from other historians during this time we have been called both arameans and assyrian, while l mostly accept the assyrian identity because it was our last true empire. But back to my question, do you think that the kingdom of osroene should be written as our kingdom, for mostly they were aramean and other mixes, and other people can say its their kingdom? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nemrud91 (talk • contribs) 21:27, 10 January 2021 (UTC)
