Thanks for some of the edits on the Korean history article. It helps a lot. Except I have not been able to come back to it because I am in a heavy argument over disputes between Korea and Japan. Good friend100 03:02, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Answer

[edit]

あなたは従軍慰安婦と女子挺身隊を混同してカウントしています。この誇張は日本が残酷だと宣伝をするためのものですか? --Kamosuke 09:32, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

--Kamosuke 06:36, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The articles that need a lot of editing are probably all the history of Korea articles. One of the best way is to model after the Japanese articles because they are very nicely done, and I wish to upgrade our articles to that level. Also, join the Korea Portal, which I am part of, and you can help edit articles.

Probably my main goal is to make the Imjin War or History of Korea article into a featured article. To do this, it would take a lot of time, but I am hopeful if we have more supporters and editors. Thanks. Good friend100 21:34, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Korean or Japanese

[edit]

Are you Korean or Japanese? Its because you wrote you "used to be of Korean ancestry". Good friend100 17:39, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

thats cool. Good friend100 20:18, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Then why do you have a Japanese name? Are you of mixed Korean and Japanese descent, or a Zainichi Korean? Many Koreans in Japan adopt Japanese names, do take a look at Stained Glass (TV series), though. Well anyway I'm just curious. Mr Tan 14:33, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Gija

[edit]

Yi Ki Baek is very very very old historian, his book does not reflect on the current history research of korea. Even in high school text book of korea, Gija does not appear, and high school teachers do not teach about Gija, which means that Gija is no longer official history, and gija joseon is generally and officially negated.. --Breathejustice 10:33, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why dont you search the current research of korean history. Kim bushik have just copied the history books of china without expert knowledge of korean history..--Breathejustice 23:14, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know what makes you think I don't know the current research on Korean history... sigh. Shogo Kawada 23:17, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

welcome

[edit]

just wanted to add my welcome. it's nice to see another editor working on korean history articles, especially someone who knows how to ref! i had worked on many of these history articles, based mostly on korean encyclopedias at yahoo korea (britannica, very nice), daum, & naver, basically as a way of educating myself, as a non-expert. they still need a lot more work, especially in-line citations, and needed to be guarded against both conservative & liberal bias.

if you have time, & are interested, i hope you can check the List of Korean rulers, especially the Buyeo section, which i think is based on the "alternative" timeline, the various titles (wang/daewang/taewang/emperor), and the korean empire period (should it be just integrated into late joseon list?).

there are many other questions, so hope you can stick around, thanks. Appleby 16:44, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

thanks, but the portal is really the work of User:Visviva, the now (temporarily?) semi-retired uber-contributor, although we've had our differences. i enjoyed it most when i was learning & contributing to ancient korean history subjects, but i now seem to be spending more time with maintenance & vandalism. User:Tortfeasor is another tireless contributor to korean culture-related articles. let me know if i can help with anything. Appleby 17:22, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 02:58, 21 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
