Andrew Landeryou

[edit]

How strange that you'd suddenly make an edit that IP editors had been making just after the page was semi-protected. Please discuss the edits rather than simply picking up the edit warring baton. Fences&Windows 19:28, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Information that has been publicly printed in reliable sources is not a privacy issue, see Wikipedia:BLP#Criticism and praise. Please don't wholesale revert my edits: you reverted formatting changes, improvements to references etc. at the same time as reverting another edit. Take more care.
This is a biography about Landeryou, not a soapbox for his dispute with Les Twentyman - you gave that storm in a teacup far too much weight and presented it from Landeryou's perspective. If anyone is really that interested in their squabble they can read it in the sources. I'm happy to leave in the cite to Landeryou's blog to verify that Twentyman's court order was withdrawn, that detail wasn't reported anywhere else.
Do you have a conflict of interest in this? My only agenda is keeping Wikipedia well written and neutral, all I know of Landeryou is what I've read in reliable sources since coming across Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Andrew Landeryou (2nd nomination) (the first I'd heard of him, not being a follower of Melbourne's political intrigues). You seem to be editing from Landeryou's perspective, whereas Wikipedia articles should be written from a neutral point of view. You've made use of his blog as a source, see WP:SPS for why you need to take care on using self-published sources. Landeryou and yourself might not like the facts of the events of 2004-2006 being repeated (Costa Rica, MUSU inquiry, bankruptcy), but as these are verifiable and prominently reported in reliable sources about Landeryou there is no good reason to exclude them.
You need to start communicating, that's the way that Wikipedia works. Discuss why you want referenced information removed on the talk page of the article before removing it. Wikipedia biographies are not meant to be sanitised according to the wishes of the subject. Landeryou knows this well having reported on Australian politicians doing just this; might it not be embarrassing to him for someone to be seen to be doing just that to his own biography? Please carefully read WP:COI before making any more edits - and please, please talk rather than making blanket reverts. Fences&Windows 00:53, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
See Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest/Noticeboard#User:Showninner888. Your latest edits are obviously biased. This is not a platform for promotion. Fences&Windows 02:50, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
