PiS

[edit]

Hi Skruee, welcome to Wikipedia :-)

I'm no fan of PiS either, but I think you may have gotten a very skewed view of that party from media articles - after all "ruling party all the way over in Poland implements typical conservative solution to issues X, Y and Z" is not very newsworthy, while "politician associated with Polish ruling coalition makes far right statements" is much more "interesting". The comparison to the NPD would be more appropriate for the League of Polish Families party, which is a junior and somewhat unsavoury far-right coalition partner. I'd buy that. The PiS party, on the other hand, is really a collection of people from the right side of mainstream politics. I'd compare them to the US republicans in many respects. I have never heard of anyone in PiS making anti-semitic statements, and far-right views are also very rare there. This is what I know from reading polish newspapers regularly, in particular Gazeta Wyborcza which usually wastes no chance to lay into the current coalition. The association of some people with the Radio Maryja radio station is similar to the way some republicans would be associated with far-right talk shows - they want those votes!

I see that you mention on your talk page that you're jewish. It pains me that a few people in Poland have this completely ludicrous and backward childish anti-semitism ans a fixation on jews. I feel like strangling the bastards. I have hope, however, that we can exterminate these views soon, and maybe some of you might come back to live here again... Hey, look, I don't know why you're calling me an extremest, but it's pretty bizzare. Deuar 20:10, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
