No, it wasn't a mistake

I saw your edit comment here and no, the user who blanked the page was right in doing so; the Puntledge River is named for the Pentlatch people, it's not a name for the Puntledge River. Why did you ever think to redirect it to that, instead of looking up the river and writing a river-stub? - i.e. instead of sending it to a dimly-related topic? Maybe you should think/ research before you create such redirects in future; the Puntledge needs an article, I don't have time today....here's the main cite, make yourself useful. the Pentlatch people need a separate article from the language one, too, but....merging and redirecting things that don't belong together is so common I won't comment further; just a waste of someone else's time.Skookum1 (talk) 09:03, 5 July 2013 (UTC)

I'm sorry I couldn't figure out it was not a mistake, because blanking a page without an explanation is not really a solution to any problem in my opinion. Also, you may want to notice that I did not redirect the page myself, but the page was already a redirect (and it was created in December 2012). This means that I have nothing against the page being a redirect or an actual, independent article, but I cannot stand a blank article-space page, which is why I simply reverted Thricecube's edit (rather than redirecting the page myself). I'm sorry for my laziness, owing to which I did not look into the topic at all, let alone researching it. smtchahal^talk 12:55, 8 July 2013 (UTC)

Restoring prods

Hi

I noticed on Mikaela Phillips you restored a prod tag after a user removed it. This is not how prod works. A prod tag should only ever be added once. If you want to continue to have an article deleted after anyone at all disagrees with a prod, then you should go to an AFD next. In the case of this article that is what happened, so there is no outstanding issues with this article. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 12:14, 12 July 2013 (UTC)

Well, it took you quite a while to notice it, because I did it over 3 months ago. I can't remember it, but I'm sure I did do it because you're an administrator and can see deleted stuff (and I'm also sure you're not lying). I do know that's not how prod works; although more recently, I placed a prod tag on an article after its AfD's result came out as "no consensus" and was obviously denied the prod because apparently a previously AfDed article cannot be PRODed. Now that was something I needed a warning for, if anything, because it happened only the last month. I do know that a prod tag shouldn't be replaced once removed (even if by the page creator) and the article should be AfDed instead (and I assure you that I've known this for at least over a month), but thank you for the heads-up, anyway. And I'm not sure I ever did anything to make you believe that I thought there were any outstanding issues with the now-non-existent article. smtchahal^talk 07:31, 13 July 2013 (UTC)

Request for Freddie A. Laker article

Hi Smtchahal! Back in early June you helped me create the Freddie A. Laker article via AfC and I was wondering if you would be able to help me with three small updates to the article? I'd make these changes myself but I have a COI as I wrote the article for Freddie's company, Guide, so it wouldn't be appropriate for me to make edits directly.

First, (and I feel very silly about this) I mistakenly left out that Freddie worked for his father's company, Laker Airways, early in his career. I've highlighted the change I'd suggest for the first paragraph of the Early career section. This information is supported by the current reference so all that needs to be updated is the text. Would you be able to make the following change?

Freddie Laker began his career after dropping out of college and joining his father's company, Laker Airways. The same year, he became a DJ for The Womb, a Miami-based pirate radio station. After being shut down by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the radio station used the Internet to transfer the signal between two antennas, making it the world's first 24 hour Internet radio station. Laker has credited the media attention surrounding this event with launching his career.

Second, it was brought to my attention that is not the sole founder of the Society of Digital Agencies, though you'll see that the AdAge source I've used in the Other roles section only mentions Freddie as a founder. However, from looking at the Society of Digital Agencies website it appears that there were actually 13 co-founders. Do you think it would be appropriate to replace "the founder" with "a co-founder" in this section even though the source doesn't use the word co-founder?

Third, when you search "Freddie Laker" on Wikipedia you land on his father's article and there is no way to get to this new Freddie A. Laker article from there. Would you be able to add a hat note to the article? I've put together the following hat note and markup for you to add if it looks OK.
