Anti-vandalism
[edit]Hi Snippy. Thanks for your work reverting vandalism; you're doing an excellent job finding and weeding out unconstructive edits. However, there are a couple of things you may not be aware of. Firstly, it's considered good practice to issue a warning when you revert a vandal - it alerts them to the fact that someone's on to them, discourages them from repeating their behaviour, and makes it easier for admins to see what they've been up to and block them if necessary. If you activate Twinkle (which, given your editing so far, I suspect you'll find really useful), you'll find it can do much of this automatically, speeding up the process.
You may also not be aware that we have a project devoted to helping new anti-vandal patrollers; you would be very welcome to sign up there. It pairs experienced patrollers with newer editors, to help them fully understand how to combat vandalism correctly and how to use some of the specialist tools involved.
