Cherita (poetic form)
[edit]Cherita [pronounced CHAIR-rita] is a Malay word for story or tale. A Cherita consists of a single stanza of one-line verse, followed by a two-line verse, and then finishing with a three-line verse. It was created by ai li, editor of still: home of short verse, on the 22 June 1997.
The Cherita arose out of the English-language haiku and tanka tradition, but is more anecdotal, or nano-narrative, in nature than are the “momentary” haiku and the more lyrical tanka, though it is easily adaptable to lyical expression. It is imagistic in nature, and depends on conciseness and suggestion for its effect.
More about Cherita, as well as examples, can be found on still: home for short verse and at Winfred Press.

- Hi! I left you a welcome box with a lot of useful links that could help you with using Wikipedia, but you seemed to have removed it :-/. Anyways, I am assuming you want to create an article from what you've written (above) judging from the fact that you've posted it on your user page, talk page, WP:FEED, and my talk page (twice). Well, you should read WP:NOTABLE. It gives the criteria that a subject must meet before it can be included in Wikipedia. Basically, it needs to be discussed by sources, outside of Wikipedia, that are reliable sources. The two links you have in the "external links" section are a good start, but I don't think either of them seem to be very credible (no offense). I say that because one of them is a tripod.com webpage and the other seems to be another tripod-like page. If you find more reliable sources, then you can certainly post this. If you are unable to find such sources, then it shouldn't become an article. Killiondude (talk) 06:37, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
- It's quite alright. I was in a bit of a testy mood when I answered you (above). I also learn by doing stuff. When I came to Wikipedia I mostly started out by fixing preexisting pages. You might wanna check out WP:Your first article if you're interested in creating a new article. If you wanna test out editing and stuff, you can do so at the sandbox. If you have any other questions or need help you can certainly ask me. Killiondude (talk) 23:47, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
