No one, though[edit]

We don't get to redefine the English language around here, though. We have to go by existing conventions. Doczilla (talk) 21:17, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Sometimes somethings (talk) 21:23, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What was your thinking with your "no one" to "[[:wikt:noöne|noöne]]" edits? They seem decidedly wrong. That you made so many might make other editors suspicious of your motives. — Alan De Smet | Talk 23:55, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Don't let this person bring you down. You tried something different but you learned it wasn't Wikipedia's way, so you nicely agreed to stop. No harm, no foul. Doczilla (talk) 04:40, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your talk page[edit]

Wikipedia discourages deleting messages from your talk page without archiving them. Doczilla (talk) 21:18, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know how to do that. I also forgot how to sign comments (like this '~~~~')Sometimes somethings (talk) 21:22, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Don't worry about it. You learn by editing. There's an awful lot of trial and error around here. When you make a mistake, you often have no reason to know it's a mistake until someone tells you. Read the Manual of Style (WP:MOS) and other links in the box at the top of this page. Most of all, have fun. Doczilla (talk) 21:29, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And your user page[edit]

I assume that you were the person who added the linguist box to your user page. However, if that was you, you weren't logged in, so it just shows IP 71.237.244.5. You should log in before you edit your user page, or someone might revert your edit, mistaking it for vandalism since it wasn't by you in your username. reply[edit]

I reply you on Talk:2007-08_NBA_season#Column_vs_Rows. So we can keep the conversation in one place. Chris! ct 21:03, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Do I really need a different user name for every language version of Wikipedia? I speak like 5 languages! >'p
That just seems silly. Hasn't anyone come up with a solution for this? Is there no way I can use my user name form en.wikipeida on other language wikipeidas? I want to upload images to the commons. Do I have to create a new user there as well? (I know I need to be registered to upload, I'm just wondering if there isn't a way that I can use the same registration there as at en.wikipedia.)

yep. Filling out registration forms seems to have become integral to the internet, but at least you can still use the same username at different projects, like I am Kerotan at Commons, and there is a way you can put links on you pages on other wikipedias which link you to your user page on the english wikipedia, like the on on this page.--KerotanLeave Me a Message Have a nice day :) 00:07, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I asked this question a really long time ago but I coded the {{helpme}} template wrong. I don't remember what I wanted to make a map of, but I would still like to know the answer for future reference.

How do I use a blank outline map to make my own GNU image for Wikipedia? (with colors inside the regions to represent stuff)

Where do I find the blank outline maps? Is there a country map of the US with county lines? Sometimes somethings (talk)

Check WP:TEMPLATES for template messages. Images are a different issue, though. Doczilla (talk) 21:15, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
have you tried commons?--KerotanLeave Me a Message Have a nice day :) 00:07, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Are you looking for something along the lines of Template:Location map USA or Image:Map of USA without state names.svg? SWAdair | Talk 00:55, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
