Welcome![edit]

Hello, SpokOfMinecraft, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Outreach Radio, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Hi Drmies,
Thanks for the information. I am the co-founder of the radio station Outreach Radio, as well as being on the board of directors for the station. The station operates as a not-for-profit organisiation, designed to serve our local community, and no person(s) whatsoever is recieving any monies or favours of any kind by contributing to the article, or to the station itself. User Samuraibrian notified me of the creation of the page, and I out of sheer curiosity read what had been written about us. As a student, I am not well-versed in formatting whatsoever, so any contributions I have made were based on aesthetic look through the preview of the page as I edited it. I noticed there was a banner stating that for further verification the page needed more citations included, so I expanded on the existing writings of other users, who are not affiliated to myself or Outreach Radio whatsoever, and added external links for further verification. I understand this may look as spam, as you have written, as I had edited that particular section twice, however it was merely in order to sercure a verified status of the article.
It is not my intention for this page to display itself as advertisement for the station itself, but instead to increase its presence on the internet, especially through a site such as Wikipedia. I have no plans to (nor do I have the time to) edit this page any further. In fact, if I am to encounter any future contributions to the page I will only add any additional citations where necessary.
If you would like to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to email me at onur@outreachradio.co.uk. You can also visit our website (https://www.outreachradio.co.uk/) to find any information that you or any other third-party contributors would like to add to the page as well.
Regards,

Hi--and thanks for responding. No, I don't need to discuss anything, really, and I'm not here to give you a hard time--the only thing that I'd like you to do right now is follow the links to the COI policy which will tell you to properly declare your COI. Thanks, and take care, Drmies (talk) 02:35, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Outreach Radio for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Outreach Radio, to which you have significantly contributed, is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or if it should be deleted.

The discussion will take place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Outreach Radio until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article.

To customise your preferences for automated AfD notifications for articles to which you've significantly contributed (or to opt-out entirely), please visit the configuration page. Delivered by SDZeroBot (talk) 01:01, 30 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You will have seen that Outreach Radio's article has been deleted and Outreach Dance is likely to go any day now. The reason given was "The keep rationales do not appear to adequately rebut the concerns about lack of sourcing that would show notability". I still believe that there was no justification for deleting the article and that the reason given is not fair to an article which was independently sourced. I'm not sure what steps you would like to take to try to get this decision reversed but as you know, I will happily support you in any effort to get Outreach Radio's article reinstated. Rillington (talk) 23:09, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Rillington, thanks for expressing your support. I don’t really have the time to look into procedures for reinstating the articles at this present moment, as the time I spent discussing this was during my Easter Holidays, and I have my A-Level exams in less than a month! I’ll have to hold this off for a couple of months before I do anything, as I wouldn’t want to jeopardise my exams over this. I’ll have to see how things are looking after June as to whether I’ll continue trying to keep the articles up, though our ranking on Google and other search engines have been consistently at the top since before the articles were written. I’m not happy with the result either, though it’s not the biggest defeat as Outreach has been and will still be relevant in Hampshire and surrounding regions regardless of its status on Wikipedia. Thank you for your support nonetheless. Have a good weekend. SpokOfMinecraft (talk) 09:20, 15 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Flip Format[edit]

Hi,

Firstly welcome to Wikipedia. I hope you will continue to be involved.

Thank you for supporting me regarding my concerns about User:Flip Format's mass culling of articles. I think we should give FlipFormat a full week to reply but if there is no reply by the 8th I would look to take this to Wikipedia:Dispute resolution. Rillington (talk) 05:24, 5 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Rillington,
Thanks for getting in touch and clarifying the dispute procedure for Flip Format and thank you for your support on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Outreach Radio. One week sounds like ample time for FlipFormat to reply - If it's okay I'll let you handle the escalation and if necessary I'll provide a statement.
Thanks,
Onur :) SpokOfMinecraft (talk) 10:56, 5 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There is no dispute and there is nothing for me to respond to here. All my AfDs cite the relevant Wikipedia policies and guidelines and any articles that are removed are removed by community consensus, not by me. Articles that pass WP:GNG and have reliable, independent and significant coverage don't get removed. Articles that are more suited to a radio fan wiki are removed. Flip Format (talk) 15:50, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This discussion is not regarding your intention and reasoning for nominating AfDs, and is rather regarding your incessant mass article deletion throughout Wikipedia. Please reply to the discussion on your own talk page regarding this. SpokOfMinecraft (talk) 22:42, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am not deleting anything - I am not an administrator and have no access to such tools. The community is coming to a consensus that nominated articles should be deleted based on defined Wikipedia policies, which have also been created through community consensus. I will choose where and when to reply to posts. Flip Format (talk) 07:40, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate your concern but this is not a space for you to reword the same answer and combat your actions, of which a concerning amount (18 in March alone) are nominations for deletion. Please reply to the discussion on your own talk page regarding this, as this page was a discussion regarding how we should respond to your behaviour. I appreciate your input but if you are to argue with me with the same point repeatedly I will only respond here asking you to take this discussion to your own talk page. SpokOfMinecraft (talk) 08:04, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Flip Format, I know you are not deleting anything but it is you who is nominating all these articles for deletion rather than trying to improve articles you think do not currently meet Wikipedia guidelines and you have been challenged on this by myself, and SpokOfMinecraft has the same view as me on this. And yes let's keep this on the same place and as it is Flip Format's behaviour that I am challenging Flip Format's talkpage is the place to continue this conversation. Rillington (talk) 16:36, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your reply.

I see that a third person has publicly expressed concern regarding FlipFormat's behaviour so I think that any complaint would be seen as justifiable given the increasing level of disquiet being expressed. I am hoping that FF takes the hint and stops nominating AfD which would mean that escalating this would not be necessary. FF nominated a total of 18 AfD last month but hasn't nominated any since I sent the message to FF's talkpage.

It seems as though FF's desire to get the transmitter articles deleted will succeed and has had some success regarding radio personalities - its not looking fgood for the retention of the article about Roger Kirk. Regarding Outreach Radio, if it is deleted I would look to try to find a way to get it overturned and would see if an appeal can be lodged. I would suggest that you copy and paste the article into your sandbox - I shall do the same - so that it can be resurrected very quickly should it be deleted.

I have also made it very clear that I also want the article about Outreach Dance to be kept. Rillington (talk) 04:51, 6 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for that! Was also planning on transferring parts to EverybodyWiki so that what we’ve written so far is still available publicly SpokOfMinecraft (talk) 09:31, 6 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. User:Flip Format is continuing to nominate AfD and has nominated eight more over the past few days. I have asked for a Third Opinion. Rillington (talk) 09:15, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Rillington, I saw the message regarding a third opinion on FF’s talk page - hopefully all goes in our favour! Do you think in light of this, if it results in something happening to FF, that the recent deletions he has contested may be reversed? SpokOfMinecraft (talk) 19:53, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
