Spam warning

Hello, I'm Tokyogirl79. I wanted to let you know that I removed an external link you added, because it seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Well, the reason they were removed was because the site is ultimately non-notable per Wikipedia's guidelines. It's a non-notable book blog. Don't take this personally, as 99.9% of such sites do not pass Wikipedia's guidelines for notability even if they have interviewed notable persons. Sites such as BookChick City have been around for years and years, but aren't considered to be reliable sources or the type of thing that should be linked to in the external links sections and are usually removed as soon as they're detected. What makes it pretty much spam is that it's a site that you personally review for. Although this was obviously done in good faith, posting links to sites that you are a part of is discouraged on Wikipedia because it's seen as promotional and as "spamming" the pages to try to get publicity for your site. Again, I know that you did this in good faith but it's still seen as spamming. I recommend reading through WP:PROMO just to kind of get an idea of why it was identified as spamming.Tokyogirl79 (talk) 10:25, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
