January 2023[edit]

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that you made a change to an article, World Universities Debating Championship, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Materialscientist (talk) 06:19, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, the changes I made are already cited in the article World Universities Debating Championship. Do I need to provide sources when the sources have already been listed in the reference list? I am refering to the list of references named WUDC 2019 tab etc. The names of the various judges for each final are on the various tabs already in the article. Do let me know if I should make a second reference list with the same information, which would make it redundant since it would be a duplicate. Ssarby (talk) 06:47, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add or significantly change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did with this edit to World Universities Debating Championship. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Materialscientist (talk) 08:30, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Do I need to add the references when they are already in the article? Ssarby (talk) 08:32, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have added the extra source. Thank you Ssarby (talk) 08:45, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

WUDC Judges[edit]

I do not "hate judges". Wikipedia has a policy (ie info must be reported by a reputable secondary source, not firsthand information) for what may establish reliability and notability. I don't have the time to drag this to a back-and-forth all day but I thought I should let you know my motive is not malice (and you should not assume this of anyone you collaborate with) but of compliance with Wikipedia guidelines. I am sorry for assuming malice and asking if you hate judges. The information I am putting in has already been cited in the references list and I thought everyone with access to that in the article would already understand that it is not new information. If I do need to put the references up again regardless of them already being in the article, I will happily do that. Once again, I am really sorry about the altercation.
