Image:AmyLansky.jpg

[edit]

Hello and my apologies for bugging you. Someone has copied Image:AmyLansky.jpg to Wikimedia Commons and I'm trying to tidy up. The way it's ended up on commons (Image:Amy Lansky.jpg) it looks like you took the photo, but you've added that it was Jennifer Dungan. I'm trying to figure out why it's a {{PD-self}} image. I had a look on Dr Lansky's website, but I didn't see anything about copyrights. Can you help me out here? How do we know the picture is PD. Thanks in advance, Angus McLellan (Talk) 20:39, 24 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jennifer Dungan is a friend who took that picture of Amy. She released it, but has no Wikipedia account, so I did the posting. I probably didn't do it quite right, so I apologize. If there is some way for her to do the release, I will have it done. Strubin (talk) 20:05, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Nothing to apologise for, it's all a bit of a nightmare! I think all it needs is an email, but I'll get the real story from those who know and come back to you. All the best, Angus McLellan (Talk) 18:03, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Electric

[edit]

Hi there! I didn't remove the portals (in Electric (software)) but moved them a bit lower. I initially thought those were external links and thus moved them there but actually that's not right since they point to wikipedia itself, feel free to relocate them. About the image you suggest, it certainly shows more but is it freely licensed? If no, it cannot be uploaded to wikimedia commons. I like the picture I used better in that it doesn't show a proprietary operating system window decoration. Either way is good. A shot is better than no shot. :) ps. Just read your user page and you look like a fellow who could get a kick out of free software, may I suggest you take a look? Palosirkka (talk) 08:34, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on 1996 New York Underground Film Festival requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.), but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Epeefleche (talk) 22:04, 3 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
