reflections[edit]

Over at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of women art historians, you recently commented I'd only ask some of the commenters here to consider their initial reactions to the article, and understand how their judgements negatively impact the growth of the Wikipedia community. I suggest that you may want to reflect upon your own contributions to that discussion. You criticized other editors on the basis of what appears to be your assumption of their gender (mine is rather public, but I have no idea to the gender of the person using the pseudonym User:JamesBWatson, and find no such indication on that user page; do you have any better information? Or was your comment directed at some others whom you've specifically identified?) You use the snarkily demeaning term Wiki-bros just before saying Please hold back the snarky, privileged tone while we have this discussion. Growth of the Wikipedia community involves not just welcoming new editors, but also not making it an uncomfortable placed that discourages the involvement of experienced editors. --Nat Gertler (talk) 16:19, 23 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
