Kenilworth

Can you please tell me why you have reverse my edit to Kenilworth (external links)? The local newspaper has changed it's website and it's name. I know this as I live in Kenilworth. www.kenilworthweeklynews.co.uk is now (kenilworthonline) was years ago. Kenilworth School is called Kenilworth School and Castle Sixth Form - I know as my children attend. I have added two very useful websites and you have deleted my edit. WHY?

While I go away and read all the wikipedia help pages, perhaps you can give me some advice (as you have more editing experience than me). What is the best way to completely overhaul the Kenilworth, Warwickshire wikipedia page? For example, the guidelines you sent me say officially websites, I agree. But both midwarks.info and whatsinKenilworth.com (my site) are advertising free and offer community information. While, www.kenilworthweeklynews.co.uk carries ads and is a skeleton of what it used to be. The KWN (Ken Weekly News) has sold it's premises in the town, the reporter shares an office in the library 3 days a week. Also, the Police Station is closing to the public from 28 Feb where Police Desk Services will be located in the library (which is also shut for a refit (from 10 Jan to 7 Feb). Furthermore, The Kenilworth Youth Centre is under threat from WCC cuts and may have to fund raise itself. And the new High Speed Rail skirts Kenilworth. Kenilworth School and Sports College will be having a new website as well based on the FROG VLE environment.

All these issues can be found on my site www.whatsinKenilworth.com which has 1200+ Google indexed pages and 400 posts. I have my site listed at http://openlylocal.com/areas/search?postcode=cv81jb&submit=Search+by+postcode and feel it is a valuable community resource i.e. Digital first New Media - news, shopping, restaurants, jobs, hotels, guest houses, schools, community updates, photos, links and advice while Twitter is also very active for @wiKenilworth

Conclusion: If I go away and read the wikipedia editing guidelines and then start an edit on the Kenilworth page, I want to know if you (or anyone else) will not just undo all that I have done. Yes, I know that is the concept of Wikipedia that anyone can edit - but all I changed was four web addresses and they were all undone with a few hours. (A similar issue happened with Kenilworth Castle yesterday where I retagged a photo that was incorrect only to get a user "Hchc2009" undo it.

I really don't understand why you absolutely want to censure my contribution in the article on Zadie Smith's novel On Beauty. If I understand you, you undid it because you considered that it was a "promotional material"... but don't you realize that the link I edited is FREE, and therefore NON COMMERCIAL, and purely and simply informative?

So, could you explain me how it could be a "promotional material"???

As you are brave enough to do not leave an e-mail where you can be contacted, I suppose that you are holder of literature diplomas to support such a ethereal -and almost overbearing- attitude.

For your own information, you shoud know that more than 10 persons reach each day Jérome POINSOT's article from this Wiki page: unlike you, they don't consider this external link as an advertising interference !

To think that with such behavior, some are persuaded to be libertarian... fiddle-faddle!

Hot dog variations

I extend my thanks for your welcome on my own fledgling talk page. However, I feel it necessary to indicate that my addition to the Hot dog variations article linked clearly and pertinently to the Montreal hot dog, Montreal Pool Room and Franglais Wikipedia articles. If these Wikipedia articles are, strangely, not sufficient sources, then I have to wonder what merited a complete removal of my accurate and verifiable addition (as opposed to the "citation needed" note somehow deemed sufficient elsewhere in the selfsame article).

Thanks for the detailed reply on my talk page -- although it's awkward to have this discussion split amongst two separate pages. Surely there's a better mechanism for this? But I digress.

I can see how the Hot dog variations article could be problematic, if people are wont to add variations willy-nilly. I'll note that although the Montreal hot dog is named for a city, it's quite a widespread phenomenon in Eastern Canada and down the USA's Eastern seabord. I hope you get the chance to try one someday. I've just re-submitted the addition with references.
