Re: Your userpage

[edit]

The Mr. AM page wasn't deleted to keep the guy in obscurity. It was deleted because it was a blatant copy-paste WP:COPYVIO. I wasn't seeing anything that would have gotten him past WP:N anyway, honestly. If you can make a case that the guy is notable enough for a Wikipedia aritcle per the guideline linked and can write an actual article and not just copy-paste a letter, it can probably stay. –TCN7JM 05:51, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

RE: your response

[edit]

I think you took the context of what I said on that the wrong way but I can see how you made the error, apologies. I know he is of note, he was a friend of Houdini and performed with Thurston ... yet as with so many of these magicians i've come to know personally today, only very few who have such huge marketing/visibility, actually make what wiki might consider "notable" ... while its actually the majority of the rest of the community like (today) Arlen Solomon who runs my local chapter of the Society of Young Magicians, or Kendrick "Ice" McDonald (http://www.ice.mcdonald.net/) who came to our meeting last night to help guide my son who the society is working to help my son both professionally and personally ... and Mike Miller who is world renowned, and one of the largest booking agents for magicians today (http://millersmagic.com/about.html) all of which spent all night last night with my son ... not to mention all the work they put into young magicians all year long (so many more are included in this list is amazing, the big stars do little to actually affect quality change in the lives of others, but those who work hard to do so are never mentioned lol) ... we really need somewhere for the slightly less "notable" to find their history recorded. They are the true super stars in my opinion. Thank you for your time I will keep researching. This list goes on to include Bobby Block, Bob Little of Bob Little's Super Sunday, a magic convention that's run twice a year for 34 years that magicians all wish to perform at for other magicians (that my son performed at last fall) and the great "Adele" last living assistant to the late Harry Blackstone Sr, who is mentoring my son ... oh and lets not forget Tannen's Magic Camp (a movie has been made about this camp) that has invited my son to participate with the urging of many of these magicians (and others) mentioned here ... so, now, how does one gain enough notability (those in history not current) to gain notability here in wiki then, when I know from society research (that isn't online its in paper and presented in scans on my website) my Great Grandfather was one?

Being a friend of a notable person does't really establish notability. Also, you're completely misinterpreting WP:N. If you haven't read that by now, I suggest you do. The big stars have references to back them up and establish notability, while the smaller ones don't. Magicians who aren't that popular in the media and who don't get actual new articles published about them don't deserve articles, and you need more than just one or two to establish notability. –TCN7JM 06:27, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
