Speedy deletion of Christopher Howard Wolf[edit]

A tag has been placed on Christopher Howard Wolf, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. mhking (talk) 03:38, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup[edit]

I've withdrawn the speedy deletion notice for Christopher Howard Wolf, but I've also noted the article needs some help. It looks like what would come from a fan site at this point, and should be rewritten in a more clear fashion. --mhking (talk) 03:58, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ohhh, thank you. I think I understand, now. What's "informational" on a fan site doesn't meet Wikipedia standards. That makes sense. How long do I have to work on this? I am reading through the link to style standards and don't want to be seen as taking too long to fix it. Thank you very much for the information. -- Taffypuller (talk) 04:02, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please double-check your sources[edit]

I have removed two claims about Christopher Wolf you added to his article, see the talk page for explanations why. In the future, please double-check your sources so you don't make such mistakes. I assume the mistakes were honest misinterpretations of the sources, but if they were not, I would urge you to voluntarily use a different venue like Uncyclopedia or Encyclopædia Dramatica. Wikipedia takes hoax information in biographies of living people seriously. -kotra (talk) 07:32, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

(response to message on my talk page) Thank you very much for your explanation. I didn't mean to accuse you of committing a hoax, so I'm sorry if I came across that way. Anyway, see the talk page for my response on the voice acting thing. As for the Dawson's Creek thing, you're right that we'll need a source that makes the connection between the sideburned character and Christopher Howard Wolf before we can include it.
Don't worry that your first article has been challenged so much; honestly it's a lot better than most editors' first articles. And that you've been patient and thoughtful in response to the challenges is very promising. -kotra (talk) 23:18, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, this is just to let you know I've responded to your question on my talk page. -kotra (talk) 16:14, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
