Some editing

[edit]

Hello.

Please notice my recent edits to behavior mutation. I found the article with the title Behavior Mutations, with a capital initial "M" and the plural. I changed it to Behavior mutation, with a lower-case initial "m" and the singular. Those forms are prescribed by Wikipedia's style manual. The initial "B" is case-insensitive in links and as the first letter of the title, automatically appears as a capital unless that is manually overridden.

I also changed lots of capital initial letters in section heading to lower case, also prescribed by WP:MOS, and changed some hyphens in page ranges to en-dashes, as prescribed by WP:MOS.

I rephrased the opening to put the title phrase in bold type in the first sentence. Usually that should appear near the beginning of the article.

One thing that should still be done is this: Most of the internal links are formatted like external links, with the full URL. Those should be changed. Thus, one types

[[behavior mutation]]

and the reader sees

behavior mutation

as a clickable link.

(The spelling used in the title could be either the American "behavior" or the British "behaviour", and I think normally it's desirable to be consistent about that throughout the article. Do you have a preference here?)

Currently the article is an "orphan", i.e. no other articles link to it. I expect there may be a number of other articles that ought to link to it, so those links still need to be created. If while viewing the article, you click on "what links here" from the "toolbox" menu, you see the list of other pages that link to it. Currently a bunch of pages that serve administrative purposes link to it, as do some redirect pages that I created, but no actual articles do. If while looking at the "what links here" list, you choose "(Article)" from the namespace menu and click on "Go", you will see only articles that link to it. For now, that's only redirect pages.

attention from a WikiProject

[edit]

At this link, the talk page of the Genetics WikiProject, I've commented on the orphaned status of this article and the link editing that should be done. I don't know how many people read that page or will be moved to work on this. Michael Hardy (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your article submission Behaviour Mutations

[edit]

Hello Tal.shalev. It has been over six months since you last edited your article submission, entitled Behaviour Mutations.

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note, however, that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Behaviour Mutations}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 16:04, 19 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
