Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Externality

[edit]

Thank you for your welcome edits. A couple of points to note for future reference:

  • You might like to note how I named the citation you added so that it could be reused again, avoiding the need to repeat the whole citation. This works for simple things but if you want to cite multiple pages from the same book, please drop a note at my talk page and I will demonstrate as I don't want to introduce it too early.
  • Your contribution was mostly good but beware of drifting into editorialising or excess commentary – see policy WP:no original research. But I think you just stayed on the right side of the law.

That article has become bogged down in a lot of detail and hobby-horsing. When you feel confident with Wikipedia's tools and house style, you might consider giving it a spring clean?
