I am not new to Wikipedia; this is a new account, as I wanted a fresh start. So if you're here to welcome me to the project, thanks, but I already feel welcome! :) --Tanner Swett (talk) 06:52, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

--thanks for fixing my spelling @ crying. English isn't my first language + I'm dyslectic + I was tired. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.45.160.39 (talk) 18:14, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletions of redirects

[edit]

Hi. The reason I proposed that deletion is that the title Android (mobile device platform) is unlikely to be typed in the search area. It contains a long description within the parentheses. Wo.luren (talk) 13:58, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I see. The thing is, though, Android (mobile device platform) has many incoming links, so deleting it would be harmful. --Tanner Swett (talk) 18:18, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I was aware of those sort of issues about links. But I guess there would be some robots automatically taclking the internal links, etc. So there is no need to worry :-) Wo.luren (talk) 14:17, 29 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer!

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. All the Best, Mifter (talk) 13:31, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Spin Bowling

[edit]

Can you look at what I wrote on the discussion page and re-assess the situation? I have a whole pile of sources but I simply think its bad practice to put a separate reference every time a word is used. Thanks 188.221.246.173 (talk) 22:40, 9 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

When you say "have a copy of 'The Bowler's Art', what do you mean exactly? I have a hard copy here on the table next to me, and there is an amazon page about it [[1]] that rates it as an authoritative source, but as copyrighted material, the contents are not available online. I have no reason be unfriendly about this; but the previous editors refused to even discuss my changes and simply reverted them, which is very frustrating when you're trying to make improvements. 188.221.246.173 (talk) 23:22, 9 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi tanner, the information I put in the table is already on wikipedia - the teesra is already mentioned and referenced, and a reference to that usage of the word wrong'un is already clearly used on the topspinner page. That was my original point - it seems silly be to asked to provide new references when I'm not actually adding any new material. If you like we can give the whole table a reference to "the bowlers art", that would probably be the cleanest way. If you revert the page to my last change I will add the reference. Thanks 188.221.246.173 (talk) 22:24, 11 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
