  • Hi, Tara. While Wikipedia is not censored, we generally encourage users to avoid writing about subject matter which some might feel to be inappropriate. There was also the issue I forgot to mention about how the content appeared to have been cut andpasted from another site. Copyrighted material is incompatible with the free documentation nature of the site. The best course of action would be to review this section regarding biographies and start from scratch with a new article. The most important factor is to establish notability with verifiable third-party source. I can't vouch for how important or notable a devotee of BDSM would be, but if you can establish the notability of this individual, I certainly won't object to an article. Hoping this helps. Thank you for your extremely thoughtful and rational response. Again, I'd like to point out that Wikipedia is not censored and a properly sourced and original article on a gay activist that meets the neutral point-of-view guidelines would be welcomed. I'm telling you this as a strictly heterosexual, highly conservative Christian male because your insight as to how this site is about knowledge and not agenda is correct. Sadly, we get clobbered with a lot of agenda-driven edits, primarily ethnic and to some degree political. I love discussng politics, but I stay right the heck out of editing political articles.  :) On the other hand, I believe you'll find there are a vast number of highly respected LGBT editors here who will gladly help you along. A sensationalistic, copyrighted first edit tends to draw the attention of administrators like me who happen to patrol new pages on occasion. It was nothing personal and your graciousness is much appreciated. Welcome to the project. Regards, --PMDrive1061 (talk) 15:08, 19 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
