Please refrain from making test edits in Wikipedia pages, such as those you made to Galwegian Gaelic, even if you intend to fix them later. Your edits did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Hi, if you'll forgive me, it seems in hindsight you were trying to edit constructively. Anyway, one's own opinion about terminology is never relevant, Wikipedia follows usage in WP:Reliable sources.[1][2]. Superficially these suggest "Galwegian" is the most favoured term, and that "Gallovidian" is also used. Whether one form is "correct" or not is not debateble, only whether or not or how much the term is used. Deacon of Pndapetzim (Talk) 17:55, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The problem though is that you are referring to a possible colloquial usage, while scholarly work use the correct form, which is Gallowegian. It makes no matter to me that people mispronounce things, what matters is that the correct form be used on Wikipedia - so that going forward there is no dissemination of misinformation. You do realize how silly you're being I hope? This would be like you claiming that Edinburgher should be written Edinbuger...

I'm not going to revert your comments, just point you to the Scholarly references: http://www.google.com/search?aq=f&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=gallowegian#q=gallowegian&hl=en&prmd=ivnsb&source=lnms&tbm=bks&ei=JmruTY-LO8rogQfQxICVDw&sa=X&oi=mode_link&ct=mode&cd=6&ved=0CAwQ_AUoBQ&prmdo=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=9f4b039ccbcce956&biw=1680&bih=929

Your recent edits[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 18:17, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
