- @Shadowrvn728: The issue should now be fixed. Sorry for the delay in the response. Please respond if it continues however. Terasail[✉] 16:01, 2 June 2021 (UTC)

Hi. After closing a request on Talk:AT&T I got redirected here: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:AT&T&type=revision&diff=cur&oldid=prev&diffmode=sourceIt
Seems like maybe the &
is not being escaped properly?Melmann 20:11, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Melmann:Yeah, its because I need to set it to replace the character "&" with its code "%26" otherwise the url gets confused and will send you to the wrong page. I will get round to it, thanks for the note. Terasail[✉️] 22:38, 24 June 2021 (UTC)

Large section of the preceding response removed unexpectedly when leaving a comment.
Hello. I seem to have encountered a bug. Please see this diff.
Upon leaving a comment on an edit request which had subsection, the tool seems to have removed large amount of preceding response's text. Melmann 18:47, 20 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Melmann: Thanks, I might have an idea why this happened, I will look into this further. It should not be a common issue however. Terasail II[✉️] 21:36, 20 July 2021 (UTC)
- Fixed: I have gone through and this problem should no longer occur. I also fixed indenting so the reply should indent to the previous message. If any problems continue reply here again, thanks. Terasail[✉️] 01:53, 23 July 2021 (UTC)
Add {{ECOI|rs}}
Hi! Recently, I added {{ECOI|rs}} to the ECOI template to bring it in line with the protected templates, and I am requesting that you add it to this tool. casualdejekyll 01:20, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Casualdejekyll: Hello, I have added this option. Sorry for the slow response, if there are any problems please ping me here and I will attempt to fix them. Thanks, Terasail[✉️] 22:40, 13 February 2022 (UTC)
COI request tool bug
@Terasail Hi! Some people have run into an issue where citations appear "double", as in [12][0] instead of [12]. The hyperlinks still work. I had this issue too, and in my troubleshooting, the issue was fixed when I removed the COI request tool from my JS page. There is some further discussion on the discord, I created a post in the "Technical" section. As far as I know, other users have not yet replicated this fix, so I'm waiting for that. Please ping me for any replies! Actualcpscm (talk) 12:57, 18 November 2022 (UTC)
- Nevermind, apparently it's just WP:THURSDAY shenanigans; at least one user who does not have the tool installed encountered the same issue. Sorry for the confusion! Actualcpscm (talk) 14:32, 18 November 2022 (UTC)
- @Actualcpscm It is all good, sorry for the late response. I will get round to updating this tool to the new interface that the edit request tool has and improvements that I made there. Terasail[✉️] 11:38, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
COI Tool bug?
Hi @Terasail, me again. Hope you're doing well. I have encountered two instances of unusual behaviour:
1. There is a COI request here: [1]. When using the "Unclear: X-Y" response button, the tool appears to get stuck; it simply shows "Processing request — Edit request starting, getting section data to edit" indefinitely.
2. In some instances, using the "Unclear: X-Y" response will instead post a reply with the standard response about reliable sources; that happened here [2].
It is way beyond my technical competence to troubleshoot this on my own, but I'd be happy to assist in any way that helps you. Also, thank you for keeping these tools running. You're one of the random people in Nebraska, at least to me. Actualcpscm (talk) 11:47, 18 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Actualcpscm Will look into this, I have been taking a break for the last 9 days or so but am happy to help fix anything. I will hop on this as soon as I can (Next few days probably) I haven't looked into that script for a few months so I am unsure how long it will take me to fix but it shouldn't be too long. Terasail[✉️] 20:17, 18 March 2023 (UTC)
- No worries. It seems to work fine in most use-cases. Please don't let me pressure you! Actualcpscm (talk) 17:17, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
Unclear: X-Y bug
When I use "Unclear: X-Y", the tool responds with {{subst:ECOI|rs}}

- Pinging @Terasail. voorts (talk/contributions) 02:15, 27 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Voorts Thanks for letting me know. This should be fixed now. Terasail[✉️] 02:39, 27 June 2023 (UTC)
Error
@Terasail When clicking the go ahead option I get Failed to find {{Request edit}} template, please report to "User talk:Terasail/COI Request Tool" Lightoil (talk) 13:05, 25 June 2023 (UTC)
- Hello @Lightoil, thanks for reporting this. I just checked on a random edit request and this worked correctly. Can I ask what page it was that you tried this on and it failed to work? Terasail[✉️] 11:47, 26 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Terasail I tried this at Talk:Gould Memorial Library and it failed so I had to answer the request manually. Lightoil (talk) 12:12, 26 June 2023 (UTC)
Template:Request edit renamed
@Terasail: I don't know if it affects the script or not. So, I thought about letting you know that {{Request edit}} has been deprecated and renamed to {{Edit COI}}. Thanks! —CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {C•X}) 14:34, 12 July 2023 (UTC)
- @CX Zoom Thanks for letting me know. It will most likely break the script but I wont be able to fix it until Saturday unfortunately. Terasail II [✉️] 16:14, 12 July 2023 (UTC)
- @CX Zoom Turns out there was no issue after I tested, I had coded it well enough to cover this luckly. I am in the process of slowly upading the script to work the same was as my EditRequestTool which should be active 'soonish'. Thank you for notifying me though. Terasail[✉️] 14:41, 15 July 2023 (UTC)

@Terasail When there is no additional information, there should be no colon in the response text. Specifically, AFAIK line 11 is just the "Done" button and never has additional information, so it should be "Done.", not "Done:". Aaron Liu (talk) 15:20, 24 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Aaron Liu This was not directly caused by my userscript and the colon comes from {{ECOI}}. I have removed the colon from the template and updated my userscript to reflect this change. Terasail[✉️] 14:55, 25 August 2023 (UTC)
Uncaught TypeError: mw.Api is not a constructor
Steps to reproduce: install script, then visit any page, add ?debug=1 in the URL, then refresh.
Fix: load the library mediawiki.api somewhere in your code. Probably on line 41.
Motivation: reduce JavaScript console log spam while I am debugging other scripts with this script installed.
Thanks in advance. Happy coding. –Novem Linguae (talk) 16:43, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Terasail. Ping as requested. –Novem Linguae (talk) 16:51, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Novem Linguae I have had a quick look, I don't get a type error from User:Terasail/COI Request Tool.js on any page that I have looked at. I get some warnings about using codex instead of of resource loader. I can look more into this at the weekend though. Terasail[✉️] 20:36, 9 May 2024 (UTC)
- Did you add ?debug=1/&debug=1 to the URL? For me it doesn't throw without that. –Novem Linguae (talk) 20:48, 9 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Novem Linguae I have updated the script to try and stop the error, I wasn't able to see the error before but could see it today, not sure if I have actually fixed it or if it still there and my console is just bugged. Let me know if you are still getting the error. Terasail[✉️] 14:01, 11 May 2024 (UTC)
- Looks good. I don't see COI Request Tool throwing this error anymore when I visit https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Mohamed_Ali_Hassan?debug=1. However you may want to add
, "mediawiki.api"
to line 40,mw.loader.using(["oojs-ui-core", "oojs-ui-widgets", "oojs-ui-windows"]).done(function() {
. And also the Edit Request Tool is still throwing the error. Thanks for your work on this fairly minor bug, I appreciate your time. –Novem Linguae (talk) 16:34, 11 May 2024 (UTC)
