Speedy deletion of "Sex tech"

[edit]

Sex tech, a page you created, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is very short and provides little or no context.

You are welcome to contribute content that complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thank you. Donner60 (talk) 01:50, 1 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Did you talk to the people who marked it for deletion? (in this case/page it would be Donner60 and Kudpung) --Terra 04:57, 1 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Sex tech requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. I have removed the speedy deletion tag that I placed on the article page. I have removed some extraneous characters in your web site links, an extra http in one but more importantly "/ref" in addition to the Wikipedia ref tag. That was causing a 404 error for both pages. However, just as I was posting this, I see that another tag has been placed on the page, which my concluding paragraph noted as possible. I will leave the following remarks here because I think they might help you. Note that I suggested you might need additional sources, which an A11 tag indicates. Although your sources will now be visible after I fixed the urls, that still might not be enough.
There are problems with this article which need to be addressed regardless of whether it can be saved from speedy deletion. It might help to work on them right away. The formatting is not proper. It is not acceptable to have the big fonts and indentations without a special reason. The Wikipedia:Manual of style has information about formatting.
The article is written more like an essay or column than a factual encyclopedia article. For example, use of the word "we" is not proper. Articles are written in the third person throughout (unless direct quotes are being cited). Wikipedia is not a forum or advice site so it can not be seen to advocate any point of view, even stylistically or figuratively. It does seem to be somewhat "made-up" and not something that reliable sources - despite one of your two references - have accepted.
Wikipedia articles are fact-based on reliable, verifiable, neutral sources. Some interpretation, but only when reliable sources can be cited for it, can be proper. Wikipedia writers cannot give their own opinions or interpretations. This can be found in Wikipedia:No original research. Some of the article would need to be eliminated or rewritten because it is opinion or conjecture and not a description of the technology.
You should avoid words that would become dated over time - like "recent". If a reference to current times is needed, it should be by a current date.
You may need another source or two to show that this is in fact a recognized term for certain items that is being accepted by reliable or reputable sources. Twitter would not be such a source.
You should review the helpful Wikipedia pages cited above. Although a few of these are repetitive because of the template I am using, here are some other links to pages with useful information that can help you in editing and writing for Wikipedia.
If you indent a line (without using some markup like a colon), you will get a strange looking box and some of your text may even run off the screen - as in fact is shown in your article.
Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages (but not article edits) by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. You may also ask me a question on my user talk page and I will answer it, if I can, or try to refer you to a page or person that might help, the next time I am online at Wikipedia.
Even though I have removed my speedy deletion tag, that does not mean the article can not be tagged by someone else and reviewed by an administrator. Your greater problem may be that the article can be put up for deletion in the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion category later. If you make some changes that I suggest, you will have a greater chance of not seeing the article put up for deletion or to have it kept, after examination, even if it is.
