European Union Budget
[edit]The answer to your question is that the discrepant figures were copied from the page European Union statistics. This page already had a table of contributions to the budget, but no accompanying receipts from the EU. I found figures for receipts and added them to the table, then copied the whole lot to the Budget page. I expect that the discrepancy is due to the figures being updated from time to time by the EU, but I don't know. Sandpiper (talk) 20:44, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
- I think that anyone lending a hand and updating figures, particularly if someone notes exactly where the numbers come from and what year they relate to, would be most welcome. People doing things on wiki frequently do not have as much time as they would like: wiki is an infinite sea of unfinished articles and any one can suck you in for far too long sorting out details. I added the extra figures because I thought not having them to balance the others was an obvious omission. I recall noting that the other figures were not quite right, but didn't feel inclined to do anything about it then. (It was probably the early hours of the morning, usually is). The figures were in the catch-all article titled EU statistics, which someone must once have created for usefull stuff. Some of this, like these figures, has now moved out to more specific articles about that particular topic. I left a posting on the statistics chat page inviting comments about removing them completely from that page, I think, and just left it to see if anyone had a view.
- I'm not sure if you know, but if you place four ~ marks in a row (like that ~~~~)after your comments on a talk page, the system sticks in your user name and talk page link automatically. Also if you edit your user page and just put something on it to say hi, the system rewards you with a blue-linked name! Sandpiper (talk) 12:34, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the help
