Marking pages for speedy deletion

[edit]

Please be a little more careful when marking pages for speedy deletion, especially when it's obvious the page is not spam or nonsense. Thanks! ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 23:23, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Could you tell me what page you are referring to? I usually don't mark pages as speedy as sure, so can you point out to me which one? If it was the japanese/chinese magazine article, from what I could see it didn't meet the notability criteria, and it was also a lot of non-english which is also against policy (I believe). Matt - TheFearow 23:25, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's a weekly magazine that's been published for years, and that certainly makes it notable. I'm still hunting fown the date of first publication, but I know it's been published for at least 10 years (as it was had been being published for at least a year before I moved to Japan back in 1998). At one issue a week for ten years, that's well over 500 issues. And where is this "non-english" on the page? Anything that wasn't English was either romanized or linked to an explanation, and that's perfectly acceptable according to WP:MOS-JA. In the future, if you aren't sure about an article, please be a little less trigger-happy and perhaps ask someone about it before marking it CSD. Thanks. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 00:02, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Others Pages

[edit]

I'm not sure what you mean. I didn't touch the userpage. I did, however, remove uncivil comments from the talk page, see here. I filed a report here. It's been dealt with anyways. Lord Sesshomaru

You mean if "don't be stupid. I will get revenge..."[1], "If I offended you good. I don't care..." [2] is not disruptive, then what is? Lord Sesshomaru
I'll keep that in mind. Lord Sesshomaru

Camp Ramah in the Poconos deletion

[edit]

The article "Camp Ramah in the Poconos" was requested to be deleted by you because it was "inappropriate". Does this mean that the other Ramah Camps should not have articles? I am trying to be a better "wikipedian", and any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Happy Birthday!

Aww, thanks for my first ever barnstar! :) Reverting vandalism in RC and NP is just too fun. Eliz81 09:23, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

For your tireless efforts fighting the vandals, especially when they hit my user page! Gaff ταλκ 16:10, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I reviewed you. There are many suggestions there, so take a while to process everything : ) Cheers! Evilclown93 20:11, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well... To put this simple, an RfA with 1K edits will not pass. I usually oppose below 1750 edits because it's impossible to show a good mix of WP- Main- and User- space edits. Also I recommend three consistent months. I suggest you wait for a bit more. Also, deleted edits don't show up in the editcount, and they are not counted and ignored in an RfA situation (I don't care too much about editcount now (I did a few months back, though, terrible, terrible mistake), but you have got to demonstrate a sound knowledge of WP.) Also, if my deleted edits were counted, I might have around 4,000 edits by now. Also, just so you know, adminship isn't considered a big deal. Evilclown93 19:08, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your bot

[edit]

For the WP:DEAD tasks only, your bot has been  Approved. For the other tasks, please file new detailed requests for approval, as I see serious problems with them and more debate is needed. Thanks. —METS501 (talk) 20:14, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

DeadBot

[edit]

Which tasks have been approved? All used WP:DEAD, so I am not sure. Do you mean only run the deadlink/redirect remover bot, and not the wikify marking part? Thanks! (Note: In the meantime, I am not running the bot at all. Once I get a clarifcation, I will disable the functionality you want me to.) Matt - TheFearow 21:07, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, yeah, I meant only the deadlink/redirect remover part are approved. I'm not quite sure about the auto-wikify tagging. You can file a new request with more details about those tasks if you wish to run them. —METS501 (talk) 21:11, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

DeadBot problem

[edit]

Check out [3]. Not only did it remove all the redlinks (good), but it took out every single of my "editor's notes" on the pages I've worked on (very bad). Fix? --Alvestrand 09:35, 7 June 2007 (UTC) [reply]

My RfA :)

[edit]
Thank you, Matt, for commenting on my RfA, which closed successfully with a tally of 76/0/1! I hope I will meet your expectations, and be sure I will continue trying to be a good editor as well as a good administrator :) If I may be of any assistance to you in the future (or if you see me commit some grievous error :), please drop me a line on my Talk page.

Again, thank you, and happy editing! Fvasconcellos (t·c) 18:02, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
