Violation of Biographies of Living Persons on Turkish Wikipedia[edit]

Greetings Wikipedia administrators, I wish to draw attention to an issue regarding an article that appears to violate the guidelines outlined in Turkish Wikipedia's tr:VP:YİB and the broader principles established by the Wikimedia Foundation on the subject of biographies of living persons (en:WP:BLP). The article in question portrays an individual as if he is a fictional character named "Sabri the Flying Man," whereas the person in reality is a living individual, who does not endorse this title. The language used in the article seems to employ sarcasm, implying that the individual possesses the ability to fly, which is not the case. It is imperative to adhere to the directives set forth by the Wikimedia Foundation, emphasizing that living people should be described with respect, dignity and in a manner they would find acceptable, regardless of the content mentioned in external sources. Regrettably, my efforts to seek support on this matter from various Turkish Wikipedia administrators have been unsuccessful. This concern extends beyond the specific article in question, as it underscores the importance of upholding fundamental principles. I kindly request the Wikipedia administrators to thoroughly investigate this issue and address the violation of guidelines related to biographies of living persons. I would appreciate it if you could tag the Stewards who could help with this issue. Thank you. (Note: This is serious and not humorous, although I admit it may sound humorous to some.) Sincerely TheJoyfulTentmaker (talk) 04:38, 2 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

We cannot help you with issues on the Turkish Wikipedia, which is a separate project with its own editors, policies, and administrators. You will have to handle this there using whatever process they have to do so. I'm not sure how things work there, but here a topic is described as how reliable sources describe it, not as someone might prefer to describe themselves. If you've tried to address this with them and they declined to accept your point of view, we can't do anything for you, unfortunately. 331dot (talk) 08:27, 2 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
