[edit]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use, as you did at Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have an undisclosed financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future. Cabayi (talk) 18:29, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Apologies for any misunderstanding. We are a content creation agency, not a PR or advertising agency. We were requested to edit and upload some content on behalf of a client and did so without doing the proper due diligence on the terms and procedures for doing so. Our intention was never to add any false information, and we did ensure that all edits were factual to the best of our knowledge. We have now read and understood the terms as they pertain to paid edits and will adhere to them going forward. The Mustard Flower (talk) 07:15, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@331dot Update: Thank you so much for your response. As mentioned the policies regarding COI and paid edits have been reviewed and understood. This account is, and will be, operated by a single individual. We can update the username to "Janine of The Mustard Flower" as per the suggestion. It is understood that information and edits on Wikipedia need to remain objective and impartial. The Mustard Flower (talk) 08:40, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Group accounts are not permitted. You will need designate a single individual to operate this account and grant no one else access to it henceforth, and you will need to propose a new username that reflects that(a name in the format of "Username of MustardFlower" would be acceptable). You will also need to review conflict of interest and paid editing and explain how your future edits will comply with those policies. You will also need to indicate that you understand that Wikipedia only summarizes what independent reliable sources state about a subject, and does not necessarily include what the subject (or their representative) wants to say about themselves. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 08:16, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
