Submitting an article[edit]

I would like to submit an article about a place in my country. It is a small article and I don't have reffernces because for me it is general knowledge. How can I get around this problem? --Thebooklore (talk) 12:49, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Writing a new article is dead easy – simply follow the steps at Wikipedia:Your first article#How to create a page. All new articles really should have references, though, but if you want to let me know the subject of your proposed article I'd gladly see if I can help you find something to verify the article. Cheers, matt (talk) 13:09, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It is about Qurum, a district in Muscat, the capital of Oman. I spotted a red hyperlink of it in Muscat, Oman page. When I clicked on it it said that wikipedia has no article on it, so I decided I would create one, especially since I know about this topic (it's common knowledge for a citizen of Muscat). I've started an article off (with references) at Qurum. You're welcome to get going with it! I really don't know much about this part of the world, but skimming through the Muscat, Oman article it seems as if we could put a nice amount of information about the Qurum Nature Reserve (who knows, maybe that could have its own article!). Let me know if you need any help. matt (talk) 13:46, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
