Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because your account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Alexf(talk) 22:00, 4 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

my sincerest apologies for violating your tos, I did not want to attach my real (personal) Wikipedia account to my schools robotics club, I am a member of it and was trying to update the schools wiki with the most recent information. we, as a club, do not receive any compensation for our contributions on ANY platform. please correct me if i am wrong, but i believe i was banned having a username that represented the name of the club and for making an edit that contained the "Promotional" content that follows "The team will be putting out updates the their YouTube channel every few weeks, you can find them at ThunderTech Robotics." my apologies for spending your time, i hope you can understand that i was merely trying to provide as much detail as possible, i wont make this mistake again. in the future i will make posts/edits that are less "Promotional" and are straight to the point, without seeming to be biased to one thing/person. Please unblock my ip, i want to use my real account. thank you very much for your consideration!

Decline reason:

You have an account, so forget about your IP and focus on your account. The autoblock will be removed when this block is removed; attempting to edit via IP would be block evasion. It is a conflict of interest for you to edit about your club; furthermore, Wikipedia is not a place for organizations to tell the world about themselves and what they do- the main purpose of a Wikipedia article is to summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage choose to say about a topic. Please tell what topics you might edit about other than your club, as we will want to see an edit history of edits in other areas, showing that you understand relevant content policies and conflict of interest before permitting you to indirectly contribute about your club. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 09:09, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
