Monoplanes

[edit]

It is incorrect to talk of a monoplane as having "two wings", for example a parasol monoplane has only one. To clear up any ambiguity, one often talks of planes or wing planes, a plane including where appropriate both left and right wings. Thus, a "mono"-plane always has one wing plane even if you count two (port and starboard) wings. Then again, it is incorrect to say that monoplanes need higher power - most human powered aircraft are monoplanes and for very good reason. When you reverted a recent edit of mine you reverted to the above mistakes as well. That was unhelpful. You could in fact more easily - and more cordially - have made the simple grammatical change reflected in your edit comment. If you still disagree, please do not revert again, but discuss your concerns on the article talk page. — Cheers, Steelpillow (Talk) 17:11, 24 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
