Article evaluation

[edit]

The article that I looked at was one titled "art music". The article is nice and straight to the point. Most of the cited works is pretty recent. Most of the cited works are from this century so that's good. There are three of four sources from the 80's and 90's that could be switched out for some more recently published works. Other than that, I would say that nothing has to be changed. I would say that more stuff could be added like usual. The article itself is neutral. The only biased information that is included in the article would be accounts that professional people in the field have to say about what makes art music "art music". All of the links worked when I clicked on them. Except for the ones that came straight from a book. Each article that I clicked on seemed to all convey the same message. The main point that each article makes is that music like classical music is "serious music" and a genre like pop music is "light music". On the talk pages, People are questioning what really makes a genre or style of music art music. Like a person was talking about all of the things that go into making jazz music but it is still art music. Maybe he doesn't agree with the criteria that categorize music into this category. Well there is a huge project that wants to clean everything up that is music related. There are three related to art music that mainly want to touch up on the genres of jazz, opera, and classical music. With classical music, there are three specific things: compositions, contemporary music, and works related to Mozart and Haydn. Timbas8150 (talk) 05:56, 6 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
