Goldcoin (sign : G ; code : GLD) is a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency and open source software project released under the MIT/X11 license.[2] Inspired by Litecoin (LTC),[3] Goldcoin creation and transfer is based on an open source protocol and is not managed by any central authority.[2][4] Goldcoin is intended by its developers to improve upon Litecoin,[5] offering several key differences.[6][7] As of November 2013, Goldcoin had received coverage via PRWEB and was sited on Cryptocurrency blog cryptonerd.co , the latter article cited Goldcoin as an established figure in crypto-currency. [8][9]

As of November 26, 2013, 1 GLD is worth approximately 0.026 USD.[10] Goldcoin is the 22nd largest cryptocurrency with a market cap of around 750 thousand USD.[11][12] Each Goldcoin is subdivided into 100,000,000 smaller units, defined by eight decimal places. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AltyG (talkcontribs) 08:20, 26 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
