Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Sign your messages with four tildes (~~~~), be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Spelling and the Manual of Style

[edit]

Hello Tobilobapaul. Thank you for your contributions. However, please familiarise yourself with the Wikipedia Manual of Style, and specifically with the guidelines on spelling. How English words are spelt varies from country to country, and these variations need to be respected. For example you should not change a British spelling variant to its American variant, as you did here, unless the article is specifically about an American topic, or unless the article was originally written using American spelling variants. — Epipelagic (talk) 22:05, 18 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Cruelty to animals

[edit]

Hi Tobilobapaul. When correcting typos you need to take more care. You changes at Cruelty to animals not only incorrectly changing words to American variants, but you also change the titles of articles and urls in references, refnames, and even direct quotes. - LCU ActivelyDisinterested transmissions °co-ords° 16:32, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I notice you did the same in the example above, where you changed noaa to NOAA in both a refname and in a url. - LCU ActivelyDisinterested transmissions °co-ords° 16:34, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
