SparkPeople[edit]

I noticed you marked the article on SparkPeople as an advertisement. The article gives information concerning a private company, SparkPeople, Inc., and establishes notability per WP:WEB. What else would you like me to do?Jknepfle (talk) 14:53, 12 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 20:23, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions. Please remember to mark your edits as "minor" only if they truly are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes, or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. 213.246.82.183 (talk) 17:11, 9 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Repeated mentions of persons nationality[edit]

How many more times do you think German needs to be added to this sentance - "Laura Bechtolsheimer (born 31 January 1985, in Mainz, Germany) is a German-born British dressage rider competing at Olympic level." ? Given your other, similar edits, it looks like wp:pov editing. 213.246.82.183 (talk) 17:34, 9 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) I'd guess zero. There are precisely the right number of "German"s. Thanks IP. The Rambling Man (talk) 17:50, 9 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Contrasting to jursidictions like the US, you can be born in Germany without being German. Therefore, it is a valid piece of information. Furthermore, I have made NO similar edits thus far. And, dear IP, may I kindly request you to log in before making such comments? Or should I assume you are The Rambling Man's sock puppet? It is your obvious Germanophobia that qualifies as wp:pov editing.TobyDZ (talk) 20:34, 9 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

He/She/It is not my sock puppet. I have no Germanophobia, other than the joy I experienced at seeing TeamGB become the greatest equestrian team at the Olympics! Epic. The Rambling Man (talk) 20:37, 9 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, he isn't. But I didn't mean you with my Germanophobia statement. I meant the IP. Cheers ;) TobyDZ (talk) 21:18, 9 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
