  • AP — Associated Press
  • UPI — United Press International (1950-95)
  • FW — Football Writers Association of America (combined with NFF in 2014)
  • NFF — National Football Foundation/College Football Hall of Fame (combined with FW in 2014)
  • USA/CNN — USA Today/CNN
  • USA/ESPN — USA Today/ESPN
  • USA — USA Today
