re: Black Sabbath discography

[edit]

Black Sabbath has never been signed to NEMS. NEMS is a South American label which licenced some Sabbath material for re-release in specific countries but they don't own the rights to any Sabbath material. Licenced re-releases and/or compliations are not regarded as "official" releases and are not to be included in Wikipedia discographies. You can initiate a discussion on the talk page if you'd like. SolarFlash (talk) 13:58, 8 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to correct you, but you seem to be talking about a completely different label: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NEMS_Enterprises_(label) This was founded in 1987, so clearly not the same label that released the Sabbath compilation in 1977!

Here is a link to info on the older NEMS label -- which was English, not South American, and appears to have no connection other than having the same name: https://rateyourmusic.com/label/nems/

It states pretty clearly on that page that the older NEMS label was owned by Hemdale Group, who actually managed Sabbath at the time. So surely that qualifies the Greatest Hits as a legitimate release? Too Orangey For Crows (talk) 14:26, 8 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Like I said, you can try to gain a consensus on the talk page. But no way is this an official release. SolarFlash (talk) 01:33, 9 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
